1.12.06

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

1.12.06

Is there any timeframe when we can expect the next beta patch to show up?
I know Morvael is doing a lot of work alone, but the Air system and Soviet supply are big issues that might be worth a hotfix.

I wouldn’t bet on it. Maybe someone could test out modifying files, such as increasing airbase fuel/ammo need and slightly increasing railyards.

IMHO in hindsight it might have been better to have done things like the experience bug fix in an 1.11.04 update before moving onto 1.12.x and introducing new changes.

If there is lots to fix in 1.12 is it even possible to release an 1.11.04 in the meantime?

Am I right in thinking that once a version becomes 'official' and is released on Steam it is impossible to avoid being updated to it or to go back to a previous version? If this is the case I'd suggest that the versions remain 'betas' until WITE2. I'm a slow player with a single player campaign under 1.11.03 that I dip into when I have time and which I hope to complete around the time WITE2 comes out. I wouldn't be surprised if there are plenty of others in similar situations. I think it is a credit to the work that morvael has put in that 1.12 has so many big changes but I get the impression that they would play havoc with a half complete 11.03 campaign?

that would be annoying to say the least.

At least some kind of update of what's happening would be appreciated.

@Sammy Yes, a bug fix for 1.11.03 would have been better. Not only in hindsight, many people thought that when 1.12 got out.
