Victory Point Question

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Victory Point Question

Post by brianreid »

Is there a way to turn off the Victory Points?, or at least increase the number needed so that I am not given a Sudden Death Victory? I am only on turn 16, and the Germans have already hit 750 VP. I want to play this out to the bloody end, and I do not want any sudden death interfering with my game.

No, but there is a scenario 1941-45 Campaign – Bitter End with no auto victory.

What will happen to the game in this scenario if one of the players takes all the winning locations (key points) that can be marked with flags on the map?

I assume it just continues, never played it.

But this is exactly the scenario that, as I understand it, obeys the rules of all scenarios in this game, right? Then when one of the players conquers all the control points that can be flagged on the map, this player automatically wins, right? Or is there something I don't understand?
I ask knowledgeable and wise people to help me figure this out.
Or developers, if this product is still somehow supported.

The sceanario name implies there's no Auto victory so I assume there'll be no auto victory for any reason.
