The city of Ryazan (1 VP) was re-occupied by the Soviet army.

Tyronec now has 243 VP, and needs 242 VP or more to win a sudden death campaign game victory on the first week
of April in 1942. The Soviet army must recapture 2 more VP to prevent a sudden death campaign game loss.

The situation east of Moscow at the end of the turn.

I think that's the Reserve Front, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind the pleasures of Moscow either!

I think Tyronec is fighting hard and it may come down to weather (or some sneaky counter attack by the Axis).

It is actually the Kalinin Front, Stavka has ordered that they prepare the final offensive to re-capture Moscow.

T35

T35.
AGN. Concede another row of hexes in the salient but no closer to Moscow.
AGC. Down to 3 hexes to Kharkov and Belgorod. It is quite open to the south of Kharkov but I am not sure if the Soviets have enough units to extend in that direction, would also stretch their supplies further. We do more counter attacks and rout a total of 30 units (most armour brigades but including some mountain infantry and guards) and shatter one this turn, one failed attack.
AGS. The advance has stalled this turn.
Got about another 6 reinforcement divisions down to help stiffen the defence.

Soviet GT 35

Second turn in February 1942, blizzard in all Soviet weather zones.

The slow advance towards Moscow continues with the Soviet army only 50 miles from the city.

Stavka is optimistic and full of confidence and expects the offensive to continue into the first week of April,
Stalin has ordered that Stavka start making plans for a move of its headquarters from Gorky back to Moscow in April.

The Soviet army is only 10 miles from Kharkov and 20 miles from Belgorod. The Axis are unable to have strong
defenses in every hex, and the Soviet army makes good progress by attacking weaker sectors of the frontline.

A major breakthrough has occurred in the frontline between Kharkov and Stalino led by 6 cavalry corps. Stavka
has ordered that the advance be continued with a major advance towards the Azov sea to cut off the supply lines
to the Axis units in the Stalino area and a secondary attack towards Dnepropetrovsk to extend the Axis lines.

Recon missions have determined that only an Axis ally division and 3 German infantry regiments block
the advance towards Dnepropetrovsk.

The big question is whether this will yield the necessary VP in time.

T36

T36.
AGN. Concede another row of hexes, routing a couple of stacks in the process.
AGC. Continue the fighting withdrawal, Soviets are getting a bit closer to Orel and Kursk.
AGS. Don't have enough units in place to take out the salient south of Kharkov but get some good attacks elsewhere along the line. Bring in another 7 divisions. Lose one hex East of Stalino though still have a good fortress line in place.

Six turns to go till April, the odds are most of them should be Snow or Mud; I can afford to lose one more city. Will endeavour to counter attack any Soviets that come within two hexes from any of them.

In total routed 39 units (including 6 cav. Corps) and shattered one this turn. In the main combat areas about half of my divisions are up to normal morale levels again, they seem to gain 2 morale points from a win when they are very low.

Will have a look when I get the file back. Think I had about 300k men in the pool though not many tanks. I have been recycling a few units every turn back to cities to refit but some units are well down. Am hoping the Soviet cavalry are suffering too.

Have never played HvH blizzard as Axis before (made a LOT of mistakes) but have been doing 10-15 attacks a turn in Feb which seems a lot. However we had so little combat up to about T13 I think both sides have had low losses overall.

Given that you're pretty close to winning a sudden death victory you can't really say you've made too many mistakes!

I have made a lot of mistakes since T15, the biggest one was not understanding the supply rules properly. Would encourage everyone to pay attention to the following two clauses in the latest patch and be clear about their impact:

6. Minimum base rail supply modifier for both sides changed from 25% to 10% (before weather effect is applied).
7. Base Axis rail supply modifier will be decreased by 20 (instead of 10) before November 1941, and by 10 (instead of 0) before April 1942.

Soviet GT 36

Blizzard in all Soviet weather zones. 3rd Turn in February.

In the Kharkov area the Soviet drive towards Dnepropetrovsk and the Azov Sea continues. The Soviet army is still
only 10 miles from Kharkov.
