Well here is turn 13 from the view of SHC.

First picture is of the Red Air Force top scoring fighter group this group continues to rack up impressive results against unescorted German airstrikes on the port at leningrad [8D]

Then a flow of pictures for the frontline...I had a bunch of pictures of battles to, to show the losses of GHC trying to storm the trenches of Leningrad but its time consuming to convert all the pictures from screen shots lol.

Regardless of how safe it looks, when the Germans are that close to Moscow you should always have at least a rifle division in each of the three city hexes.

You're playing well against a top gun !!! AGN is well contained but you've committed far to many units. Slow (don't stop) AGN's advance and stop it at the Volkov. Pelton's has remarked similarly. I wonder where the 1st Corp is ??? Moscow looks "ok" but with 4 more turns ???? You do lack depth with your fort line in front of Moscow.

He will probably make a big sweep south of Moscow and a big pocket west of Tula.

You're playing well. I do think you're wasting troops twix Lake Ilmen and Moscow. You don't need 3 unit stacks IMO.

1st Corps is slamming against my brick wall is where its at [8D]

Im consistently stopping 2-3 attacks per round at leningrad several turns in a row I stopped 3 of 4. Then when I have 4 hexsides I have been able to counterattack and retake the square...thus the reason for the security screen in that hex as I retook it...however putting a full stack back in would just cost me morale and troops for no gain so I just use a crap security as a screen to cost him some fatigue/movement on one division to push it away.

Thus my 3 division stacks are absolutely required along with a reserve activations many of his attacks were only stopped because a reserve division in the back line reacted and I have those units building forts already.

Everyone has their own strategy personally I feel giving up leningrad is a huge mistake and if you let it get cut off with the port heavily damaged you are giving up the city.

As I always say, have a good reason behind your actions. Then you can process and learn from what happens. I like your style.

But Moscow is endangered to some degree. IMO it is an unnecessary risk. But you are playing intelligently and well !!!

1st very good SHC player I have played in a long time, post 1.07.

Have not lost a game started after 1.07

I can see what he is doing, but at what cost long run is the question.

Also ignore the green guys at rostov I misclicked and assigned them to the wrong front and its prohibitively expensive to fix that misclick lol. They should have been assigned to the purple front.

I cant see the colors, most of the summer I have a rainbow colored front as Germany.

Well the last days of summer is yet another grim day for the Soviets T17 is pretty rough but the weather should be helpful from here on out....Did the turn late and forgot to get screens of T17. After I do turn 18 tonight should post my T14 in my thread.

T17 he almost surrounds Tula so I have to abandon it and he gets a good size pocket between the Lake and Moscow 20 divisions or so. The only thankful thing is with mud most likely the next several turns the pocket should hold for awhile. A good chunk of the armaments was out of Tula but he did get some and the some Heavy and alittle armaments. Still nothing to critical as of yet to maintaining a long term war effort.

The Germans repeatedly attack leningrad this turn and take the first city hex on the south side and the woods next to it. Only good news they take heavy losses and Leningrad is still in supply. With him stripping the front to push on leningrad Im able to retake a hex he left open and push him out of and retake a second frontline hex as well.

In Moscow I pushed forward to get close to the Germans and in Tula I retreated to reform a new line as he almost encircled my forces there despite them being a 4 deep line he had to cut through.

In the lower center a local counterattack, and I launched for the Soviets in 1941 a massive counterattack in the Rostov area. Won 3-4 battles pushing back several German infantry divisions since all his tanks are playing around Moscow.

Going to save my comments on the system until more turns play out. Feeling abit like Stalin did in the summer of 1941 I bet lol.

Not going to pretend to say Im playing a perfect game just playing based on what I think should work. So far Ive survived most of the initial 1941 German offensive with a relatively intact war industry and an army still in the field but battered. My OOB is probably pretty close to what it should be for historical but maybe low for this game IDK. Even discounting the 200k he has pocketed I should still be around 4.5M going into mud. I know many have criticized my stand at Leningrad but dont underestimate what it has done despite the costs perhaps. Primarily he still has a ton of Germans tied down up there, secondly it has generated around 20 total guards units now just in that sector alone. The entire rest of the line has only generated 5 or so. That to me is a huge benefit. If I hadnt clung to leningrad like a cornered rat I think alot of the forces im still tying down there would have been driving on Moscow in September/OCT instead. Could just be my opinion.

Anyway going to fight on, tonights turn will prolly be it for a couple weeks as I will be out of town.

OK, I take back the crybaby stuff. The 24 cc was useful for Lgrad defense, I bet, so maybe should stay.

the "c" dude is far above the average newbie, maybe caught P off his game a little. X2 mud was a big help.

So Random weather gives Snow on turn 18....so ya law of averages and the weather dice are completely not on the Soviets side. An its gives mud in the south the only place I could attack.....Apparently the weather dice are on Germany's side this version of the war lol.
