Knight's Crosses

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Knight's Crosses

Post by KWG »

Just totally defeated a Allied invasion for the first time. The Allies landed just north of Rome in Oct.43 and by Feb.44 there was no Allied unit in Italy and over a 150,000 Allied POWs were marched through Rome.

I did not throw the invaders into the sea, I denied them the sea by taking their ports after allowing them to advance inward toward Florence.

The main accolades go to the 16th SS Reichsführer who held their ground in 2 key battles that started the ball rolling against the Allies. The division was given a large Tiger detachment and a posting in France.

SIIIIEEEEG HEIL!

Thanks, Iam a good spieler, just a bad tieper.

Have meet plenty of bad nonNazis. The Allied units are such Hulks they dont need strategy they could just fall on me.

AI offence, in this round, seems it's too aggressive wanting to move inland before securing the flanks and capturing ports.

SIEG HEIL.... Y'all.

You can take that sieg heil (International sign of sheep and IQ impaired) and shove it somewhere. No one cares about your obsession with the losers who died in droves clinging onto the absurd notion they were superior. It's often the ones who know they're inferior who claim to be superior. Your reply to nazi's are bad... "Have meet plenty of bad nonNazis." Absurdly pathetic, but not surprising coming from a nazi lover.

I was raised not to be rude to people but here it goes;

Am I at the right website...

Have you ever jumped out of a airplane, walked over 25 miles in a day, not

bathed and lived in your own filth for weeks, had to take 2 showers in a row to

get clean, eat your first hot meal in weeks in the pouring rain and it tasted

like heaven. Much less even be in combat.

Have you ever play a music instrument? do you just make notes or do you put

life into it.

Do you have a real understanding and appreciation of what people went through

in WW2? Or even what it has taken to develop this sim.

Iam not saying be a raving idiot in every post. But I will sometimes post in

a semi roleplay or do a themed post. Iam having fun, enjoying what Iam doing.

Like my platoon Sgt. use to say "War is Hell, but Peacetime is a &%%#%#."

Maybe that's what it is. Look at the world today. Most people have their ass

on their shoulders. Everyone has their TRUTH set in concrete. Ive learn that

"a truth" is not "the truth", and most truths are half truths.

Maybe its the urban life. Iam lucky in that I live in a very rual place. I

study the deer, turkey, insects. Ive had to take a broom to a Bald Eagle

getting crazy on the porch. Ive seen the world's best ambusher the

"Cottonmouth" from just feet away. Watched a baby deer take its first steps,

a buck survey his surroundings, baby turkeys in Indian file humping down a

trail and watched 1000's of dragon flies patrol the sky at sunset. I walk

the Shiloh battlefield and learn.

We had a trooper in our unit that wrote "F^%K OFF! on the underside bill of

his patrol cap and when some Officer or NCO told us some BS and walked away

the trooper would flip up the bill of his patrol cap for all to read. So when

cutting up we would say to one another "hey read the hat." Thats what people

should do to this world when its trying to pull you down, tell it to read the hat.

Have you ever read "The Forgotten Soldier" by Guy Sajer? Or "With the Old

Breed" By Eugene Sledge? With the Old Breed was used as the template for

HBO's Pacific War. I studied Evolutionary Biology under Prof. Sledge and ran

some of the labs in his last years of teaching. He was one of the most

pleasant and fun people to be around. He was serious and funny at the same

time. FarSide cartoons were plastered on his office wall. And he had a big

poster of Barney Fife loading his revolver with the caption "Make MY Day".

What I gleamed from him of the WW2 generation is beyond words. Plus I liked

his view on spelling, its like a handgrenade - just get it close if that all

you can.

I got rid of TV this summer, so I no longer have the "Hitler Channel" or

"Shark Week". And like George Carlin said "Yeah Iam a idiot, I think for

myself." Spent this summer working, observing nature, writing and I read the

3 known accounts of the DeSoto Expedition. If you think you know what a

"Indian" was then read "La Florida" by Garcilaso da la Vega it will repaint

everything you think you know about "Indians" and you see what it was to live

as a Battlegroup for 5 years among hostiles.

This world is on the verge of Peacfull Hell and its going to take a great

generation to make it through. And a generation is not a certain age group,

its everyone alive at that moment.

When i come here i want people to know I appreicate what they are doing in

in the making of these sims. They are not just putting some graphics and

numbers together and throwing it out the door. And I show my appreciation by

having fun. It's more than just numbers and clicking to me, its a way to get

a small feel of what is was like.

Yes Iam guilty of all too. And iam a idiot. And this is just a little of

what I feel. Look up my first post about WiTE and it's my feeble atempt to

express.

I just founded out that the dish Welsh Rabbit is not rabbit, so the world is

making no sense.

Where's Pelton, I dont know him, yet he seems like a deep thinker who's a

damn fun person.

The phrase "Sieg Heil" has connotations that many people find, well, unpleasant. Because of that, I wonder if it would be best if this phrase is not used here.

It was not directed directly at you and thankyou for proving my point. Iam not mad or upset just disappointed in ways. More along the disappointments of the WW2 generation Ive talked to.

Dont pee yourself and faint I meant *proving my point- as in lightenup and have some fun [;)]. And share some info on this colossal.

And if PEOPLE are going to ASSUME to know me from a few pitiful sentences, then maybe they should known me.

If thats the case then let it be stated. Do they still fly the Confederate flag in current sims. There are lots of historically offensive words and symbols. And if a Sieg Heil, SS and a ! makes a person's peepee hurt maybe Angry Birds is more the speed. The slaughter of over 500 nations and slavery are all legacies of a Army I served in. Intent should play a part.
