Br Airb denied US Trans AC?

Post by gargoil »

At the beginning of the 43-45 Campaign British Paratroopers, when selected to drop in concert with the initial amphibious assault on Sicily, are given a wide selection of both British and US
transport aircraft within range to be used to drop them.

Later in the campaign, I organized a invasion of mainland Italy. I prepped British paratroopers on the exact same airfield as that first drop. US transport were one hex away from them and unused. When I select drop for them, only a single British transport is selectable (an not enough to carry the unit). The US transports are not listed.

Why?

BTW, the US transports have enough range, as the turn prior the carried US paratroopers even further north successfully.

Probably best if you provide a save...

Are the aircraft supplied? Did you try a mock transport of supplies to see if the aircraft are available for that type of mission?

You are probably out of range for all but the one BR transport.

That would make sense. BUT...

After using the US transports to drop 82nd Airborne to locations even furhter away than where the British paratroopers are targeted, I moved those US transports to the airfield in the same hex with the British paratroopers (this was a one hex transfer, the US transports were in an adjacent hex to the British paratroopers). So there are now 5 transports on the airfield in the same hex as the British paratrooper. All have 0% flown. All have plenty of range to reach the BR para's target. Yet the system only displays the on BR transport still. Frustrating.

Put in a bug report with saves. It may not be a bug but it sure sounds like one.
