Always rest squadrons under a certain morale. I usually pick 70 for the axis and 60 for the allies. You can do this quickly using the AirGroups tab in the Commanders Report.

Try and use the appropriate aircraft for the right mission. Fighter bombers (trained as bombers) for interdiction/unit bombing. 2 engine level bombers for bombing railyards, rail lines, airfields, and small industries (like v-wpns). Heavy bombers only hit cities.

Hit the same targets with the BC at night and the Americans by day. Concentrate all you bombers into one mission, but select a large area for them to bomb. Select only manpower for the British (they will spread the love anyways), but pick what you really want to hurt with the americans under priority.

The axis should concentrate their fighters. Put the long range fighters at the back....any ME-410's at Ploesti until they build up to full strength.

You can defend one area fairly efficiently, but not all of Germany. At some point you will have to get rid of the night fighters as you wont be able to defend both day and night. Disband them and use the pilots in your day fighters.

FOr interdiction, I will usually put all the Typhoons in one Air HQ, and all the Hurricanes (trained as bombers) in another. That gives me two groups of about 1000 planes each for missions. I will alternate them from turn to turn to keep up a steady interdiction as they tend to lose a lot of morale to flak.

For the Germans I will put all the fighters in Luftwaffe Reich. Then I usually group the rest by type into different HQ's.

Axis should hit the allies where they cant concentrate. Like Corsica...or middle of France. Try to avoid hitting them where they are strong like Italy or in easy range of England.

I usually use AUTO for loadouts with some exceptions.

I typically remove all drop tanks from the Germans. I want the fighters to perform better and I don't want them intercepting over the channel, and it keeps my fighters concentrated.

The allies I do the opposite. I make sure my fighters have drop tanks (when available) so I can range deeper into Germany. By mid '44 I like to fly three 10 hex wide boxes and let the computer bomb what it wants as long as it is vehicles/afvs/aircraft. You can at least halve the german production.

i'm in the process of writing some AAR for basic beginners guides to game use, but it may take a while to do everything, as i'm a beginner too so to do them takes all day for a given mission / battle / operation, but hope to have some to upload soon, hope they may help some, but be too basic maybe for others, and won't replace the manuals either, but just my opinion on what is my approach on easy and basic as i see it, as some idea of easy and basic instruction maybe now be basic enough for some like me, who is a idiot at times and also need my hand holding more with not being a great manual reader, but do like the video approach of teaching, so as pictures say a 1000 words do AAR instead with a little amount of txt to read...
