Axis manual rail repair?

Post by Seminole »

Is there any way for the Axis to repair rail manually?

Possibly only by using the editor. Allied manual rail repair units are just headquarters of a special type. They hold 4 engineering regiments to do their work. The British ones actually hold dedicated rail repair units, the US ones just hold General Service Engrs. Unlike other HQs the assignments seem permanent. Tired of having the 'little guys' run off to far corners of the map - I created extra rail HQs in the editor and assigned some existing engr regiments to them as Allied. I see no reason why this would not work as Axis. Plus, it appears you get the benefit of having super-hero battalions do the work of Allied regiments - at least the Axis battalions look that way.

The game could use engineering directives that function like air directives. You can currently assign to many tasks in cities and air bases, but rail repair outside cities does not appear to be one of them.
