Changing Green background

Post by davidjruss »

Is there a way to change the green background in WITW ( hex detail background , top border etc ) as I find it very hard to read the white print on the green background. I have seen on the steam page various screen shots of WITW with the grey background info as in WITE and this is much easier to read.

If it is possible could anyone advise how I could accomplish the transition from green to grey for WITW ( in other words can I keep the German grey background for both sides rather than swapping from green to grey when the Allied turn finishes )

Many thanks

Hi.

Sorry, I'm late in a reply. So I took most of the green (Allied) background graphics in the art files and de-saturated them in Photoshop. They're a plain grey now although it's not the same blue-gray as the Germans. I've attached them to this post as a zip file. You just have to unzip them into your War in the West/Dat/Art/Gui directory where they will overwrite some existing menu and unit box files.

I didn't change a lot of the green items like radio buttons, menu tabs, splash screens and such. So, your Commanders Report will look something like this with a mostly grey background but green buttons and menu tabs.
