Patch Update

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

Patch Update

Post by Emilio »

Hi,

1 month ago I posted a message asking for any news related for the next patch, but I had no answer.
Currently there is a 1.040 beta patch, but, there is any plan to release it as non-beta patch?

Thanks,

Emilio.

I think is game is pretty much dead, that's why there was no answer.

I beg to differ. There are many who will play this game for years to come. Like A&A players that have stuck by that game for over 20 years. If you want something new for AWD then try out Deluxe AWD. It puts new life into this great game making it even better. As far as a new patch there is hardly any need. It's nearly bug free and many new features have been added after release. Developers have to stop sometime and move on to other projects. With that being said, 2by3 games has done more than enough to justify good support for this game.

As far as the 1.04 beta patch is concerned, I wish Matrix games would move it out of the members section already. It's been proven to work fine so I think it's time for it to go official.

I've been playing it since before it came out to the market and before I played WAW, if I had more time I'd play it more, don't think it's dead.

Wanderinghead (Brian) was the one making all the improvements and fixes in the latest patch, he doesn't get paid by developers still he's done a great job. He was going to take some time off but he'll probably be back, hopefully...

I agree w/RJH. I played the game a lot since it was released. I don't play regularly now but this is still a classic for me and I come back every once in a while for a new game or more. There's less activity but still people playing at any given time. I expect I'll continue to check in now and then.

I still play this game too. Not anywhere near dead. I will still be playing this game for a long, long time. It's going to be a classic in my book.

I reckon there are lots of folks like myself who play for a while and then (usually for work committments) take a break for a while. (Sadly, I am on a work break...) Too, there are now a few variants (stock AWD, Global Glory, and Deluxe) that all provide gameplay variety.

Keep checking the forums and you will find there is usually some activity.

The new Deluxe scenario is a very different experience in some ways from stock WaW or Global Glory. Worth taking a look at.
