Feel free.

I'm enjoying seeing how the new game plays against a human opponent. Keep it up. Also - although not directly relevant to your game - I was wondering what happens if the Germans don't attack Holland. Would this mean the Japanese can attack the still-neutral Dutch East Indies without triggering war?

If the Germans bypass the low countries the celebes is the only territory that is reachable while the US is frozen. And of course this means that the Wallies get the Inf and DD in the low countries on their upcoming turn as well as the rest of the DEI's , not to mention the +15 increase to Wallied war readiness.
I did get Siam to swing axis but the + 15 would be a big negitive if my strategy didn't involve an early attack on the US.

I am not asking what your strategy is for getting the US in the war early, but there previously (GGWaW) was NO advantage for the axis in having the US come in early (unless pehaps attacking the US S.W. region.
How is this different now?

Well, basically, it is not different, nothing but increased production comes from a War Ready USA. In GGWaW, the US activated in Winter 1943 no matter what and this is no longer the case. Some players make it a point of honor to win as the Axis without resorting to the "Delay," i.e. stick to roughly historical invasion dates on Russia (Summer 1941) and the US Fall 1941/Winter42. The axis player is certainly able to postpone outright hostilities and US WR increases by avoiding the basics:
Sinking transports with subs
going into mainland China with Japanese land forces
attacking neutrals when not absolutely necessary
Though.....you must invest in spies against the WA to the point where you have a very solid idea of when they will "unfreeze" otherwise you miss out on an easy DEI grab/Pearl Harbor Strike.
Does that answer the question?

With the loss of Moscow, I was wondering how close your opponent is to AV (what are the rules as to this?) and also how he is doing as to the new Axis high watermark rules?
Fun game so far!

IIRC he´s in the high fifties/low sixties, but will check tomorrow to be sure. One thing IS sure, he is far from getting an AV, even a total Russian collapse at this point MAY not spell the end for me. You need 76 for decisive, 74 for substantive and 72 for marginal, for each highwater mark reached, victory shifts accordingly toward the Axis (as before, I think?! Haven´t tried WaW in a long time....) Keep in mind that there are about 20 victory points available through the capture of strategic areas (a bunch in Russia, India, Australia and 1 in Egypt.)

Just an observation - I noticed from the screenshots that it looks like the US no longer has a maximum 4 production multiplier - it looks like the maximum is now 3! That's a pretty significant change!

Actually, in 1944 it goes up to x5 automatically.

At x5 it is truly worthwhile to repair resources and maybe even build more factories, oddly enough. I´ve been experimenting with that starting in 1943, reults later (too early!)

It seems that throwing everything into France to make the Germans pay was a mistake, as that seems to have cost you the Middle East. That's certainly not helping your position.

Well, it has been my experience that the Allies can never hold Egypt against a determined (and competent, which this one is) German player, and there is no sense in throwing away truly valuable units (ground, air, LF) in the attempt.

i generally start up a factory or two on the first turn. it really helps latter. i tried moving a factory to another area in canada, but it did not allow for building of equipment, maybe it should??? i think that if a country joins your allance like mexico, that county should be able to produce militia on some low schedule. if you move a factory there maybe some limited unit types??
RE: All-feel free to post questions comments about ongoing AAR (Brian/Christian)Here
population generation at the factory location is required for a factory to produce military units. otherwise it'll just be capable of producing supply and tech only.

Agreed, but if you make him fight to take the ME, I don't think he'll do as well against the USSR because of that division. He seems to have the best of both worlds here because of your sacrifice for France
