The WA production priortitys have been stolen by sneaky jap spies.

Note all the arty being assembled against the Axis.
He appears to be going fighter heavy also.

Last picture this turn.
This is the world map at the end of Axis Spring43.
Japan is spiraling out of control, but for how long??

The good news is we have reached a favorable Axis High Water Mark.
Now 3 long years of defeats ahead??
We shall see.

allies' not opening a second front gives germany some breath area, but still Russia is coming.
as far as i know, MrQuiet, as a top three score owner, is the best player that write a Axis AAR. so keep on, i really think it represent a high level Axis show, looking forward to it. we are lack of high quality Axis winning AARs[:(]

That game ended with a Axis decisive victory.
Mike played a great game but gave up sometime near end 44 beginning of 45.
The Russian Army was comprised of about 80% artillary.
He certainly was on his way to crushing Germany.
Russians were in Romainia (which I took back in a later turn with pare hehe)
Russians were also in Poland and Yougo.
When I finally pulled defenders from France WA came ashore but he was having major Resource collection trouble.
I had isolated Austraila/ India/ and most of Africa and destroyed somewhere near 90 to 100 transports. (subs were 4/4 on way to 5/4)

As far as I could tell Russians were having major trouble getting supplies to the front to keep moving the 40 - 50 artillary (tecked to 10) plus the handfull of infantry and a few tanks. He could not gain any Combined arms bonus because he had no airforce and never could outnumber my tank deployments. I also pounded his rails every turn making it that much harder to get supply to the front. But I will admit his artillary force was very scary and would make my highly tecked up German Army completly unable to be effective in battle.

But the Japs really won the war, they were very very strong at sea and in the air with many extra cags (tecked up nicely) to replace losses imiediately. He could not afford to research the bomb and make war so he finally surrendered. I really did expect to lose Germany in a few turns but was fairly confident with Japans position, one of the few games I have ever felt that way.

No, that is absolutely wrong, Mike Mcmann has a lot of expierence with GGWAW and wargames in general.
He just tends to go for extreme strategys (like you do) and the game is so well ballanced that devoteing too much somewhere always makes you weaker somewhere else.

For example he went very very heavy on Russian Artillary at the expense of air power and armor.

Just like I have seen you schury attack USA with Jap very early (1940 I think) at the expense of instant USA production spike.

The turtle beats the rabbit most of the time in this game. You have to be ready for the whole war, not just expect to win it overnight.

Indeed, hopefully at the Grand Strategy level there is nothing that one side can do which will ensure victory, or that is all that will ever be done.
