Sorry, I am a day late in posting an AAR.

Japan is desperate to make the most of their element of surprise, but poor positioning of their carriers too far east, and awkwardly distributed supplies means the Japanese fleet are unable to disappear into the mists of the Pacific after the initial attack. A submarine reconnoiter of the US West coast indicates that the US may be able to muster only a limited counter attack, so the imperial navy will brace themselves for the shock wave of revenge that will surely follow.

Meanwhile, only a very limited number of resource rich centers are captured during the winter months. Japan expects to suffer from a lack of resources as a result. Sustaining a war across such a massive theater of war will be almost impossible. At the hour of our greatest glory, the shadows of our eventual defeat cast a chill of impending defeat across the bows of our battleships.

Dahnyul as Japan sends turn to Haudrauf as SU.

Well we can´t let Hirohito take all the glory can we?[;)]
Kriegsmarine again did a very important role in containing evil WA seamen... With some support from Africa corps Luftwaffe, I strike those surrounded WA fleet near Africa... And then again with subs in India sea...

And I did my promise and went to see my neighbour the SU. Surprise attack went very well. Axis army group north and central are advancing as planned, and army group south is hindered by Rumanian recent joining (Rumania joined this turn).
I noticed that SU is investing heavily in FT-s, will that leave them weeker on the ground?
Here is the pics...

Dahnyul as Japan sends Spring 42 turn to Haudrauf as SU.

Midway falls to Japan, but we sense a gathering menace. We may have awakened a nasty gang of Americans.

Spring 42 Russia

Post by MrLongleg »

Finally the Germans accepted our kind invitation and attacked us with an overwhelming tank army. The Red Army starts a first conterattack south if Leningrad and is able to damage 3 German tank units. Nevertheless it s clear, that big sacrifices will be need to push back this enemy. At least the presure to our friends on the West should be reduced now.

Brave Australian troops moved North to re-enforce the South Pacific Islands in order to halt Japanese expansion once and for all.

Reconstruction efforts are well underway to build the military up to overwhelming levels.

Golden era of German subs is nearly over, now when WA has lvl 3 ASW with destroyers... But the WA are far from stopping my subs harassing their trade routes...
There are again 2 CV-s in London, RN keeps pumping them up, as I damage them[;)].
But I do not think that WA is ready for some major Pacific actions...

Offensive action in SU continues with fair weather.. Combined attack on SU troops pays of, but nothing important this turn..
SU is set to protect Leningrad, Moscow, Kharkov line... Look at all that infantry divisions!

Turn sent to Hiroh...[:D], Dahnyul[;)]

Summer of '42. Just like in the movie, but without the beautiful widow.

A lack of resources constrains the movement of Japan. Gains are minimal with a couple of Islands and, a couple of transport fleets and a pen of American Subs.

Meanwhile, China is being a jerk. How dare they think they can do battle with the great Japanese army? Oh. That's how. That would explain all of the blood.

Dahnyul as Japan sends Summer of '42 turn to Haudrauf as SU/China.

This turn Russia kills a German tank spearhead south of Leningrad without any losses. Moreover forces are regrouped to counter the significant build up of forces west of Kharkov. Can Kharkov be defended?

kondor as Germany, fall 42 turn.
High command decided not to go for Kharkov... It is too well defended and we had no chance of taking it...
Attack on Leningrad failed, SU just has too much infantry![:-]. We´ll have to remedy that..[:D].
This turn nothing much... Axis infantry continues too burn Africa´s (WA) resources, SU took some hit in the production... ( I think that my HB-s damaged 4 factories this turn...[:'(]). And WA continues to suffer in trade routes...[;)]
Mighty coalition of Axis and Japan troops are veeeeeeery close to first watermark (68), I hope that my ally will do 3+ this turn[:D].
Here is damage to troops so far...

The gathering rage of the Americans looms ominously in eastern sky.
Meanwhile Japan settles for minor strikes against minor islands and undefended worthless territory.

Russia probes its new fighters in a strike against Eastern Poland, but they do not perform as expected. Nevertheless Russia is eagerly awaiting towaresh Winter, which should create some problems for the German aggressors.

Fall 42

The Allies ASW forces show their first signs of progress by effectively halfing the number of German U-boats at sea. Hopefully merchant shipping will soon be unmolested.

The Indian forces begin their probes into Japanese SE Asia.

The South Africans begin their advance up Africa - easily brushing aside the light resistance they encounter.

A joint British and American strike force conduct the first air-raids into Western Europe.
