Germany Fa42

Report to come... space reserved [;)]

Well here is the report...

In Russia a battle over the Moscow region resulted in five axis fighters damaged in exchange for four russians damaged and one destroyed, not a good result since population limits play against Germany [:(]
In Velikiye Luki a lonely militia was destroyed and the region taken, no need to keep a garrison there so troops were withdrawn.
Also an strategic retreat was made from the Kharkov region to Kiev, too many goddamn artillery the ruskies have... [:@]
As to the battle with the uboats you can see the results in the screenshot...

The sub war is really heating up; Stalin has received cables advising not to rely on lend-lease this season. Mother Russia will have to go it alone. Kharkov and Kursk are liberated and the push to expel the invaders begins. Kharkov is still vulnerable to counter-attack (8-9 armour are in Belarus), but the decision is made to pursh ahead nonetheless...Soviet heavy bombing damages resources in Poland.

Elsewhere, Germany will feel pressure in the air. Soviet spies indicate that the Luftwaffe has approx 15 fighter squadrons; the WA have 19 and Russia has 7.  The pressure is beginning to mount, although Germany is still an adversary to be feared.

WAllies, Fall '42: The Japanese carrier force near Hawaii is attacked with success. The "War on Submarine Terror" is progressing less well.

Wi 43 Germany

Germany is now clearly on the defense, pz divs in Smolensk area had to be transfered to Kiev to prevent the russians to attack, doubt they will in Winter but in Spring we'll have to fend off a superior enemy.
Meanwhile we continue to harras WA transport fleets, he's actually down to only 25 TF, and that surely does hurt his production, no raw materials getting to the factories...

In the screenshot you can see what were the battles this turn.

Wi43 JP

Initially JP high command cannot believe the heavy defeat suffered by the IJN but after a closer look at the unit stat the high command note that the WA CAG is at 6-7 ... it is just superior to the IJN CAG.  Lesson learned, always check the unit stat screen for WA's tech development.

JP has to consolidate her gain ...

As much as Stavka would like to expel the invaders from mother Russia, troop concentrations are such that additional preparations are necessary. The logistics of advancing across the whole front are staggering and much supply is needed. Fortunately, millions of Russians gladly 'contribute' household fuel and stockpiled foodstuffs so as to ensure a sustained offensive in spring.

In the only action, four Soviet fighter squadrons suffer damages in exchange for destroying two German fighter squadrons, damaging one fighter squadron and damaging a heavy bomber squadron.

I have just had a couple email exchanges with GKar (and I presume he will be posting his own statement). In effect, has does not appear to have much interest in taking the 2v2 tournament further, especially noting that I myself will not be able to play after the next two weeks. For my part, I must apologize, but I did not anticipate that the games would take so long to play when making my commitment in September of 2008 (I think these games have been taking over 7-8 months!). I would humbly suggest that the 2v2 format is a rather risky format due to its much longer turnaround times and greater susceptibility to interruption. That said, I am heartened to see that a 1v1 tournament is in the works and I look forward to peeking into the forum from time to time to see how that progresses.

Just to confirm from my side, yes, we resign this game due to a mixture of loss of interest in the tourney and lack of time. I wrote a little more in the round 3 thread.

This game was going pretty well for our side right now (I think), but since Lucky1 will be away soon and I won't continue in the 2vs2 tournament either, there's little point in playing it out. Sorry for the somewhat sudden death, but it has been a long road...

Long road... this tournament started two years ago, I'm amazed it's still running, well its coming to an end... hopefully
And yes we were fighting to last as long as possible, the tide had turned for the Axis...

Bump.
Hopefully after reading an AAR and with the new patch that allows pbem++ people will become interested in this game again.
