Unable to activate new DLCs

I upgraded the basic game to the 10.0.6 version, but I am unable to install any DLC that I purchased previously. I have installed the MultiDLC application and whenever I select an uninstalled DLC and enter the serial number, I can't proceed with the installation process because I get the "Setup unable to detect a basic game". Somehow the basic game is unrecognised by the installation application and given that it doesn't need the serial number, i can't select it from the list.

What am I supposed to do?
