Must I use steam?

I bought the game when it came out, must I use steam now, or can I play it the way I always have?

I appears that you canstill play, and that steam is an option for those who previously purchased the non-steam game.

From this link here: product page it states the below quote.

"If you have already bought Panzer Corps, you can get access to the Steam version of the game as well. All you have to do is register your game here. Click here to for more information on how this will work."

It looks like those who want to may attach their game to steam.

No, the release of Panzer Corps on Steam changes nothing for existing customers, it just introduces the game to a new audience and gives existing owners the option to add their copy to Steam if they wish to do so. We still continue to sell it through our store as always and customers are in no way required to use Steam for Panzer Corps. Customers on Steam and off Steam will get exactly the same support.

Erik, I have a question - I notice on Steam Allied Corp is only $14.95 but its still $30 on Matrix, if I buy on steam does Matrix get the money or steam?

/Reason I ask, I would rather fund Matrix Games..

Ahhh, I checked the day before it was released on Steam, it was $29.99, thats why I was confused.

Yes, you can redeem your key once you register the game on a Slitherine account.
