SAVED GAME PROBLEM

Post by MemoryLeak »

Hi,

BACKGROUND-I have two pc's, one in den and one in family room. Wife annoyed that I spend too much time playing this game and she wants company.

So I put the game on the pc in the family room too. But when I transfer the saved game files from den to family and load the current turn on to that pc, the map area, both large playing area and small map in lower righthand corner, are black. And none of the buttons on right side work. So I end up using task manager to get out of the game. The display settings are the same on both pc's.

Is there a trick to moving saved games from one pc to another?

And are both updated to the same version?
Are both using the same equipment file?

I beleive so. I just bought the game a week ago along with all of the DLC's and everything is stock. I didn't know there were multiple equipment files available.

There are, when you use certain mods that alter them, and of course with each new version of the game.
The issue you're referring is usually caused by that.

So please, check if you've the same DLC's and the same version installed in both computers.

Here's a thread, that deals with synchronizing the saves between different computers as long they have exactly the same version as the same installed mods:

Thanks for the links.i am positive I am using the same version on both pc's. I jusy bought the game and put it unmodified on to both pc's.

But as far the at links go, I didn't understand a word of what they were trying to accomplish. I am running XPon both machines.

I'll ask El_Condoro if he can take a look at your thread. Maybe he remembers something that I'm not.

Can you open and play a turn on both PCs? Not a saved turn, just a new game turn?
