A small confussion with disruption of maneuver

In the age of Pike and Shot, mighty struggles erupted across Europe for causes religious, political or dynastic. The Thirty Years War raged across Germany and beyond, leaving devastation in its wake, but saw the rise of great commanders such as Count Tilly, Wallenstein and King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, and rapid developments in battlefield tactics.

A small confussion with disruption of maneuver

Post by elgranKapitan »

I'm gonna quote the Pike and Shot Campaigns manual, page 25:

Interruption of Moves
A unit’s move may be interrupted by enemy fire. It halts briefly
then will require a further Move order to complete its move.
However, if the originally intended move was not directly
forwards, the unit may no longer be able to complete it. This
represents disruption of manouvre when the unit comes under
enemy fire.
as far as i understand "not directly forwards" means in diagonal right? I've tested this several times and apparently there's a bug or something because if i move in diagonal in front of (in this case) a crossbowmen the light troop does not interrupts my movement. it's either that i'm missing something or perhaps someone can explain me what is "...intended move was not directly forwards".
Thanks, really awesome wargame by the way.
