Do you recover resources when a unit surrenders to you? I think you should.

I believe there's a special unit called "Scavenger" or something that has a chance to convert hits or kills or something into Credits. But I agree that resource raiding could be worked into something cool.

Indeed, the "Scavenger Team" (Economics unit Feat, i think level 3?).
One of the priests has a similar effect.

Currently equipment and the soldiers that use it are one indivisible unit. So salvaging gear would require answering the question "where did you got those soldiers to run it from?". It works for the odd Galactic Republic Era gear, but nothing on this scale.
