Political Points

Post by andyinkuwait »

Very new player here

The mouseover says "34 ppPoints provided 6PP".

What are ppPoints and what is their relationship with PP?

Where do I get ppPoints from?

ppPoints squardroot to get you actual PP. More BP budget towards PP generation.

Square roots are used a lot in the game to provide scaling factors where "more is better", but not overwhelmingly so.

Still don't know what ppPoints are or how to get them.

I read about the sq rt arrangement in the manual but there is nothing in the manual to tell me how to get them

This is what I understand about it: The Supreme Command Council takes the BP points that are budged to them and further budgets that according to your wish for their priorities to Political Power and General Stratagems. The amount of BPs assigned to Political Power results in a certain number of ppPoints that are created. (Reports -> Organizations -> Supreme Command Council Overview) The ppPoints are squared, which results in the new PP for the new turn.

In that creation of ppPoints, the log mentions the Director Relation Bonus and the Director Administration Skill. So maybe having those high will help ultimately increase your PP.

If someone knows how to get more PP than this, I would also very much like to know.

Thanks for this.
It really helps if you can see where these numbers originate from.
It is certainly clearer now.

Also, from time to time upgrade your supreme headquarters as they improve your PP generation :)

So, in summary, the actual number of ppPoints is given (34 in this case) but how they are generated is hidden?

In my case I have a 50% split between Political Power and General Stratagems (so presumably 17 ppPoints for each) which is then sq rt to make 6PP.

Does anyone have any more information on the production of ppPoints ?

An example from one of my games.

Note that the leader bonuses are multiplicative.
That number is then square-rooted, and further modified:

OK, that's really helpful.

I'm probably not seeing this because I haven't processed a turn yet so I don't have a start of turn log in my overview.

Thanks for taking the time
