Any way to mod events?

Post by Solaristics »

Is there any way to disable, mod or reduce the frequency of events? There are a lot of trivial and repetitive events that take me out of the interesting parts of the game to worry about a few point shifts here or there on someone's loyalty or an ideology's score. I'd rather just not have to deal with them pretty much every turn.

I presume you are referencing 'Decisions'. They are such an integral part woven into the game, I suspect it may not be possible to eliminate/mod them all out.
I have had from 0 to10+ plus (each round), but have never, really, minded them; & looked forward to many of them.
Turning off the Story Modules should eliminate quite a few of them; also, experimenting with the S&S Editor might offer some potential per this, as well.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't want to eliminate decisions altogether, but I just want to remove the trivial and repetitive ones and/or reduce the frequency of decisions over all.

I already have all the story packs off for this reason.

I had a look at the S&S Editor and manual, and I'm not sure it is going to do what I want: "The S&S Editor is designed to allow you to add content to the vanilla game and not to change the content of the vanilla game. (that being said the ‘Modify existing table’ tables do allow you to hack into the vanilla data tables)". So, that statement from the manual seems a bit contradictory, but the amount of effort required to learn the editor and work out how to make the changes are off putting given there is no guarantee I'm going to be able to achieve the results I'm looking for.
