Year 297 AA Redhold

"My rulership of Redhold has officially begun. And it could not have come too soon.
My predecessors was indecisive. Despite finding Oil, Metal and Rare Metal desposits, he did not want to exploit any of them. He viewed going for them - aiming for greatness - as too dangerous. That it would only bring other groups greed to bear against Redhold.
I could nto sit idly by with us sitting on those resources, not doing anything to improove the lot of hte people across the planet.
As I disagreed, I got him deposed. No longer is Redhold held back by indecision and fear - with thosse resources to start with, we can rise to be a superpower. And we will rise to such heights. Maybe we even will be the ones that will unite the planet and restore the civilsiation lost to the Dissolution war."

Winter:
- in my Ascension speech, I made sure people knew that I was strong, but caring (Heart)
- however in order to run a true power on this planet, the government will need a steady revenue stream. I ordered the formation of a Interior Council
- our knowledge of the surrounding world is horribly out of date. But we could fill in one spot on the map: The Zepelan Territory to the west/north-west is apparently a small enclave of the natives. And they wanted to talk to us. As I trust the as much as I would trust any Linguist team, a Logistics team was sent to talk to them. They appreaciated the effort, but it is hard to say if they made any progress on our language
- A bunch of supporters showed a resolve they could not extend to the rest of the planet - and rose up in revolt against this new beginning. They are position just south of the river Fons, south of Jarada
- on the civil side, I ordered the long overdue exploitation of the metal deposit we have know about for years now. I will take a time, but it should be easily worth the cost

Early Spring:
- the militia is blocking of and shelling one of the enemy groups. while the 1st Brigade went and encirceled the other
- in addition to the Rebels, the Territories of Landing (north/east) and Sobarro (south east) started encroaching on Jarada
- the Militia held a parade. And I was advised that it might be the "customary" time for a bonus. I can agree to that. Especially as the Militia will still have to pull their weight for a while.
- a group of explorers found a derelict ancient mech, south of even our southern neighbours. I promised that I would do everything in my power to make sure it is kept secure and added to Redholds spehere of influene
- the Interior council needs a leader. I have nobody with existing skill in Adminsitration, but given his poor Militiary Skills I choose Rico Radonsong - previously leading the 1st SHQ - to run this new Council
- the Sobaro territory apparently is also natives, and despite their encroaching on our territory they want a peace treaty. Given that we are surrounded by unknowns and thus a lot of possible dangers, I agreed to these terms.

Late Spring:
- the landing territory keeps advancing and has now almost take our farm. Without it, our soldiers would starve. While the manpower for a full Brigade is avalible, the industrial capacity is lacking due to still building the metal mine. For that reason, I could only afford to raise 2 Machinegun brigades to defend our food supply
- the SHQ's new leader Libby Titansight has been installed. She went straight to work with the Rebels. The militia defeated the 1st Rebel group nearest the city, while the 1st Brigade dealth with the 2nd, slightly farther away one. That leaves one group to defeat
- There is a minor worker strike in Jarada. Unfortunatiley
- the Interior Council managed to install the basic taxation infrastructure to levy the first round of taxation
- I suspended the initially set recruitment bonus. Now Loyalty will have to be enough to get people to enlist

Summer:
- whoever lives in Landing has now advanced all the way to Jarada. I ordered the 1st Brigade to turn around and push them back. While the militia will deal with the last rebel group. The defense line is not yet complete
- the Nomads of teh Madalar Territory have recently taken to harassing our traders. I ordered the Army to assist, but they will have to fight their way through the Landing forces to get there
- I sheduled a meeting on our local little cult - the "Anima Circle"
- on top of the income taxes, there is now also a sales tax. Despite this, money is still tight. I had to sell a large amount of precious metals to make sure the workers continue receiving their wages

Early Fall:
- the Landing territory turned out to be natives as well. But these ones keep advancing thus far unchecked
- Adam Neitherway - commander 1st Brigade - asked for total power over the workers of one of his estates. I publically reprimanded him for that suggestion
- the meeting on teh Animal Cult happened. Apparently they are almost paranoid about another cult, rumored to exist: The "Shadow Sect". They supprot Democracy and the Wellbeing of the people. So the decision was made to support them from now on
- And I could quickly make good on said promise, as they asked me to speak on a Symposion of theirs. I accepted of course
- thus far we used our scout plane squardon for ground attacks, but they keep sufferign casualties from the machineguns of the rebels. I ordered the creation of a proper fighter Squadron, but not all units are ready yet
- we have quite Accomplished Envoys and a solid foundaition for a Bureaucracy

Late Fall:
- The aliens reacted to the fomartion of our frontline and started pulling back in a little. Also our spies managed to get some decent data on their positions, animals and equipment:
- the "Blue Rapers" - Archoshrimp Rabdion - is a 3m Herbivore with Omnivorous tendenceies. It is quite flightly (Chameleon I, Reflexor II) but their extreme Jumping abilities (Jumper IV) will be of little use outside of ruins or mountains. They are a much lower danger then their riders.
The "Landings" group of Archoshrimp Rabdion Sapiens, is armed almost on the same level as the 1st Brigade. But I still think our soldiers will prevail.
- the militia needed some cash. I had to sell rare metals to finance this operation - at a pretty poor rate I might add - but we managed to give them what they need
- the Interior council managed to increase taxes to a sustainable but positive level. Hopefully this will be the last Tax increase we have to do for a while. I ordered the council to refocus efforts on Human Resources and Interior policy for now
- the new Fighters flew their first sorties against the Rebels together with the recon planes. More are hopefully to come soon.

RE: Redhold Reconquista

Year 298 AA of Redhold
(I had messed up the decade before)

Winter

- without Risk, there will be no progress on the Landing Front. We declared war, but choose not to engage in combat for now. Let them be the ones to attack first, hopefully running into our machineguns. Not that hard, given that they were already trying to extort us for Credits.
- both Oil and Rare Matels are still a limited resource. I ordered the exploitation of the remaining large ruin patch. After it, the Rare Metal spot istelf will be in focus
- however as long as fuel is that low, Air operations have to be suspended for a while
- the current taxrate was clearly not enough after all. A increas of the income tax to 30% has been put in place
- I also had to sell metals to afford the machines needed for the building projects

Early Spring
- the attacks from the Natives left around 1700 dead, at only 200 casualties for our toops. However, they managed to conquer the farm!
- our troops are still in disarray after being pushed back - but soon they will be ready to retake their food sources
- our Soldiers are very proud of their country, and willing to fight with no pay other then food
- the Equality Army demanded a improovement of the Bureauctratic Infrastructure. This request is acceptable
- it would be appropirate to form another council now. I think a Model council is the most usefull for now, looking into way to improove our soldiers gear
- the natives of the Zepelan Territory also wants money for peace. However their demand is way beyond what we can afford.
- I let the SHQ look into options to raise a 2nd Brigade. The manpower was almost there, however Industrial capacity is the main bottleneck for now. I had to raise 2 machinegun groups and redirect some militia units. I hope it will be enough or that peace with Landing can soon be restored.

Late Spring:
- It turned out that - luckily - the Zepelan had no forces in position to make good on their declaration of war. Hopefully that gives us enough time to form a defensive line
- our Leaders are usually Friends and there is a strong culture of cameraderie
- the Humansit school demanded that the morale of our soldiers be on a good level. It seems easy ewnogh to do, so I accepted the demand
- the agreement to improove the Bureacratic Infrastructure was mostly a backroom deal. However now there was a option for a policy speech - and I choose to make the same promise publically. This is the poltical equivalent of "being paid twice".
- I need people for the Model Design council and the reserve pool is pretty barren. So I have no other choice but to hire some new Leaders:
Charlene Coaldawn, 65f, 25/24/22/II, Military Recruit, Enforcement++
Hugo Ionwaste, 24m, 28/29/24/II, Junior Recruit, Heart++, Government+, Democracy-
Ace Humansun, 20m, 23/23/19/I, Military Recruit, Heart+, Merit+
Leo Astro, 18m, 32/30/34/III, Junior Recruit, Heart++, Meritocracy+, Commerce++
I could find nobody among the recruits or the existing that had any skill in the Technician field. Despite his potential political incompatibility, I choose Leo Astro.
- the fight to retake the Farm was bloody. 400 death on either side. But we did it - the farm is in our hand again
- on another front, our soldiers died without making any relevant progress. A expensive mistake.
- however this time I ordered more then just replacements. Some reserves - around 1 Battallion worth - we be kept in the SHQ.
- until they are ready again, I ordered the 1st Brigade to take a defensive posture
- what was left of our industrial capacity, was invested into preparing more ammunition for our forces

Summer:
- the aliens managed to push back a militia group, but they gave as good as they got on the way out. The counterattack cost us 500 vs their 300 casualties but I think a solid front is worth that price.
- the new Design for the "Guard" Infantry is finished. It is a greeat improovment in survivability for our soldiers. I started to slowly phase them in via the Replacement system.
- the Zepelan forces started appearing at our border. I will wait a bit until they decided for their positions before advancing - the last thing I want is to make the nearby 3rd parties agressive
- with the 2nd Recycling community and the stop of air operations, it seems like the Fuel situation has almost stabilized
- the 1st Anima Cult Priests joined our forces. They are expected to improove the experience of the forces overall

Early Fall:
- as both sides are exhausted, there was no combat on the Landing front this time. This gives us the time to deploy our new machinegun design - not quite as big a upgrade, but a upgrade none the less
- the nomads of Madalar have been assaulting our traders again. However this time I can make no commitment to their defense - all troops are already tied up elsewhere
- the Vozonion territory to the east - surrounding the Alosa sea - turned out to also be natives. We send in a acomplished envoy, but he failed totally at making any progress
- it does not look like I will managed to keep my BP promise to the Equality Army, but I started work on the command HQ in hopes of at least managing with the people
- a quick focus of the industry, and all our Infantry is now on the Guards 2 standart. But the replacements of hte Machineguns will have to wait a whole while longer
- for the first time n a while, the Airgroups flew a sorties agains the rebels to the south - still held in check by the 4th Jarada Guards Regiment. While said regiment resumed the Artillery Bombardment. I need to wait for reports if our Fuel and Ammo Production can keep up with the demands

Late Fall:
- the Zepelan aliens probed our defenses, but were repulsed and only managed to destroy a few militia trucks
- My promise to the HS to increase the soldiers morale has been deemed fullfilled
- the Vozonion natives tried to talk to us. This time I am sending a proper Linguistics Team, to make sure progress is being made
- Despit the retaking of the Farm, Food for the soldiers and worker has been going down. And I really would like to get some Biofuel refining going as well. So I oredered a increase of the Dome Farms near Jarada
- I do not think our troops are quite ready for a assault yet. I want to wait till winter before I allow attacks

Year 299 of Redhold:

Winter:
- another probing attack happened by the Zepelan. This time they did not even make it to the Trucks and were repelled, with losses
- apparently there is some worker unrest in Jarada, as nobody had told me the money reserves were below what is needed to pay them! Rare Metals are now selling to a pretty good price, so I sold the limited stockpile to finance the workforce for the forseable future
- The Equality Army demanded I hire their Candidate Sileas Coalnight, 36f, 28/24/9/I
- the leader Pool is starting look a little bit bloated. And there are a number of "not in a thousand years" cases. So I tasked the Interior council into looking for ways to retire them - ideall without giving them a large severance package
Ace Humanson took the offer, but Hugo Ionwaste rejected it for the time being
- we finally got some data on the eastern Pemanio territory. And of course, those are natives too. It looks like we are surrounded by 4 Natives, 1 area of nomads to the north, and one wilderness to the south
- our troops are no longer in a defensive posture and are now in fact advancing. What little combat happened was decisively in our favor

Early Spring:
- no less then 3400 Natives with around 2000 of their Animals attacked the 1st Batallion from nearly every direction. When the dus had setelled, about 200 of our people had lost their lives - compared to 700 Natives and 200 Animals. Yet they still appear unwilling to end this conflict
- our peace deal does not seem to mater to the Sobaro Natives as much as we had asumed. They threathened us in a attempt to extort money. We had nowhere near that much money, so we are now at war with them as well! I managed to redeploy the various Machinegun groups to cover this front for the moment, but more Importantly I managed to scrape together enough manpower and equipment for a 2nd Brigade - or most of it at least. I had to order two of the Machinegun groups to disband, and there is still a lot of Infantry missing - but it is without a question a large step ahead
- offenses on the Landing front continued. Minimal losses for continued advancedment and larger enemy losses

Late Spring:
- the Sobaro made a few attacks, but overall made very little headway
- the Dome Farm upgrade has finished, but the HQ building is suffering some late issues that will delay operation for about a Season
- I had to make a commitment to protecting our Traders from the nomads this time. There was no politically viable alternative
- the Vozonians asked for advanced tech. It was a difficult descision to make: On the one hand, it is almost guaranteed they will use any new technology against us in a almost guaranteed war. On the other hand, this will delay said war by quite a bit. I choose to agree with it
- it was time to decide on a new Council. As I fear we are falling behind in military technology compared to everyone else on the planet, I choose a Military Research Council
- there was a minor Worker strike in Jarada. I decided to agree to some of their demands, effectively paying them off. I had to sell a lot of food to offset this loss, but I am confident that the improoved farm will fill the storage quickly
- I had to choose who to put in command of the 2nd Brigade. Of the 3 Candidates, only the (very old) Charlene Coladawn had any skills due to previously serving in the military.
- The interior council got Hugo Ionwaste to retire
- we managed to scrape together enough manpower and material to get replacements into both brigades and have some reserves afterwards
- political capital was notoriously tough, but our bureacrats and businessmen rallied behind me wich gave me a decent amount of clout
- I ordered more spies to be send into the surroundign territory. We need information if we are to have any hope of survival

Summer:
- another bloody summer, another lot of dead aliens for minimal casualties
- it seems like logistics is becomming a issue with my troops. Depsite the near non-existant distances, getting replacements and supplies to the troops is prooving difficulty. I ordered a Ugprade of the Truck Stations and continued the upgrade on the HQ building
- I needed to put someone at the head of the Military Reserach Council. Despite his poor learning capabilities, I decided for the Advisor and Militia Leader Marlow Pascal. While his learning ability is questionable at best, he does have some existing exprience in the field
- I had not realized that there is quite a bit of technological difference between the various native factions. The Landing ones use improvised and bought or stolen weapons. The Zepelan and Sobaro actually have very good weapons of their own desing. And the last information said the Vozonions are in the middle, using avereage weapons of their own design.
- by focussing our efforts, we managed to convince a unalligned Leader to join our cause:
Casander Sodirock, 30m, 36/34/31/II, Government Roughneck

Early Fall:
- the Sobaro front was tested and not found wanting
- while I failed my promise to the party to do it quickly, my promise to the people about increasing our Bureaucratic infrastructure has been fullfilled
- money is still tight. There is just not enough income in Jarada to tax. And any higher taxation would risk stiffling what little growth there is. I had to sell all Rare Metals and however much Metal that the Traders would accept
- the big expense this Season were alien Mercenaries. While we do not nessesarily need Vozonian Infantry, this at least should keep relations on a solid level
- I had to name a new Advisor. Casander Sodirock both has a pretty inoffensive personality and decent skills, so the choice for him was not a hard one. I attached him to the Miltiary council to help the Discovery of technology options
- On the Sobaro front things were working well - wins with minimal casualties. Unfortunately the OHQ commanders tendency to lead from the wrong got hismelf shot
- ammo reseves are getting low. so I had to spend most of the remaining industrial capacity onto it

Late Fall:
- a large group of Sobaro Aliens charged a weakened part of the 2nd brigade. of 1800 Insctoids and 400 Blue Rapers 700 and 100 died - no relevant castualties on our side
- election seasons came and went. The Humanist School has a vote share of 60%, with the Equality Army keeping 40%
- it seems the "Equality Army" Faction has expanded their scope a bit. They are now strongly pro-goveernment and want more efforts inthat direction. I accepted that.
- Time for another policy Speech. of the issues, the one about QoL was the easiest to fullfill and the one most dear to people hearts, so I picked that narry a thought
- Nomands keep attacking our Traders. The issue is somewhat of a Politicum. Ironically it are members of hte Equality Army - just recently expanded to inlude government - that still kling to a strong security and surveilance state and thus hate my lasiez fair attitude here
- the 1st Brigade needs a new leader. Nicolass Coalnight was pretty useless, so I looked at some Recruits:
Isacc Brown, 58m, 16/19/15/I, Military Recruit; Militia+++, Commerce+, Democracy+
Oliver Wood, 26m, 34/26/38/IV, Military Recruit; Government++
In the end I choose Isaac Brown. He is far from capable, but he does have some existing Tactical Skills
- the natives of Landing are being hammered hard by the 1st Brgiade under their new leader. Minimal casualties, decent progress
- the Sobaro meanwhile prooving a whole lot harder to overcome, but still thre is progress
- unfortunately the upgrade of the Truckstation hia few delays, wich will delay opening by about 1 season

RE: Redhold Reconquista

Post by zgrssd »

Year 300 AA of Redhold

Winter:
- another 500 natives killed themself - charging our lines at various fronts - at no relevant casualties
- the Humanist School wanted me to focus efforts more on Meritocratic principles. However this goes against the standing Democratic Traditions
- it looks like the Vozonians understand there is still more to learn about each others language. Another attempt to improove mutual language understanding was made. Again I had to support it for strategic reasons, despite that focus on "Experts" not going along well with the people
- our troops are loosing count about just how many losses they are dealing to the landing territory. Still they stubbornly refuse any attempts at peace
- the results on the Sobaro fronts are a lot more mixed. Some battles having relevant casualties for our side, some being decisive defeats for the natives
- in a single push, the last machineguns have been upgraded with the new armor
- our spy network is reaching far and wide. As a result, there is now some data on the Regimes beyond our current neighbours:
In the South/South East past the Sobaro, there is a similar major competitor for the planet - Zelafel. Apparently they found similar resource deposits and equally choose to use them to apply their image onto the world
To the east past the Pemanio Natives, there is anotehr Major - the Rochard Pax.
To the east past the Zepelan Natives - stretching out from the Northpole southwards - there is a Minor Regime called "Bergstein".
I send spies to get more data on the last one - Bergstein.
- the Madalar nomands may be quickly becomming a problem. Apparently they are agitated by the troops at their broder - even if we are fighting the Natives, they seem to feel threatened. If they are trying to become an issue, I think I can redirect parts of the 1st Brigade - plus maybe some cheap buggies - to push them away

Early Spring
- every since we hired mercenaries, there is a bit of a "dance" with the Vozonians. Some of them advanced into our territory for the 2nd time - and then were slowly coralled back by the very mercenary troops we hired from them.
- the Military Reserach Council came up with Ideas for Side Skirts - to make Armor a bit more resistant to Infantry weapons - and combat armor - to make Infantry massively more resistant to small arms fire. I ordered a Focus on the Combat Armor for now, as I do not see any fielding of tanks in the near future
- the Humanist School wanted a improovement of our Soldiers Morale. Given that I can propably get the target by simply not attacking this season, it is easily acceptable
- the new Truck Station is operational - finally I might add. By next Season the bottlenecks in unit supply should be a thing of the past
- money is still as limited as ever. I ordered a Rare Metal mine to be built, wich wille hopefully give enoug resources to reliably sell something valuable to the traders. But in the meantime, businessmen and power brokers that still owed me a favor or two decided to support the Government with a susbtantial Cash injection
- a new Recruit has joined the Reserve Pool:
Wubbo Sidefield, 40m, 44/35/24/III, Submissive Farmer II; Militia+, skills in Agriculture, Defensive works and Resist Influence

Late Spring:
- the Sobaro did a odd thing. They attack a position driving back the Militia stationed there - only to then actually fall back in that sector
- the new Buggies are finished. However adding extra armor without increasing the engine almost doubeled the fuel useage. Another redesign with a bigger engine was ordered
- the interior council managed to get Sileas Coalnight to retire

Summer:
- another 700 dead natives, for no relevant losses on our side
- the Humanist School considers my promise to improove the Soldier Morale fullfilled
- Isaac Brown created his own Faction - the Lawfull Circle. Their goals of Autocracy and Commerce do not mesh well with the current direction of the State. However he might be able to get a decent amount of Votes from his Soldiers in the next election, so I need to consider getting him to retire
- apparently the Landing Natives lost control over some of their riding animals, wich ran free behind our lines. They were easily dispatched
- apparently a number of Employees of teh Model Council suffered from Radiation Posioning, and the option to give them Special Treatment Gyms to speed up recovery came up. I agreed with the Heartfelt plea for this and they will now have all the support to speed up recovery we can muster
- The option to create another council came up. While I liked several of the options, they will have to wait for later
- the workers in Jarada are still not very happy and went on a minor strike. I paid them off. Meanwhile the population is perfectly happy with the state of affairs
- meanwhile Vozonian Tribesman that tried to contest out territory were isolated in a pocket to the south

Early Fall:
- the Zepelan natives keep challenging - and failing - against our militia forces. This front is stable, with the only one taking losses being the Zepelan themself
- my promise to improove Civilisation and Quality of Life has been fullfilled
- our nation has become a Rally Flag for all humans across Sozisus Planet. Our Soldiers are inspired by it and more motivated then they already were
- the 3rd Itteration of the Buggy has been finished. The bigger engine did not bring the expected reduction of Fuel consumption - if anything it is now higher then ever, more then double the Original Model. However this 3rd model also maneuvers closer to the 1st model and actually has some armor improovements, so I guess we will keep it for the future
- the Pemanio Natives requested a official Peace Treaty. We managed to get some territory out of them during negotiations, but it is signed now. Here is to hoping it last longer then the one with the Sobaro
- the ammo stores were really getting low, so I ordered about 1100 additional units to make sure our troops can continue to fight
- adventurers found a Special Location - the "Engine" Degraded Automatic Factory. The people want us to secure it, and so I gave the order for this
- meanwhile the Troops Advancing into Landing Territory found a Hermit in some Ancient Caves. He was willing to offer to teach the Governor of Jarada, in exchange for being otherwise left alone. Acceptable
- the Governor of Jarada - Grant Farmer - is not working out. His skill are decidedly more on the Military Front. I decided to replace him with Wubbo Sidefield - ironically a actuall Farmer

Late Fall:
- The Nomads of the Madalar Territory decided they would no longe respect our border, and started advancing
- meanwhile the Sobaro are shortening their frontline - again
- all our Spies in teh Landing territory went silent all of a sudden. I ordered the spy network re-established
- the Anima Circle Chapter in Jarada requested some support. I gave it freely
- Wubbo Sidefield is now the Governor of Jarada
- Speaking of Jerada, the city has now breached the Threshold of 100k people, making it a minor city in the old GR classification system
- in order to deal with the new Front, a third Brigade is needed. I ordered a Volunteer Drive in Jarada. We managed to raise almsot a full Brigade on Recruits, together with the already existing troops that is more then enough people to face the enemy in the Northern Nomads
- Power is becomming a issue in Jarada, so I ordered the creation of a Solar Panel Field

Not right now. Some nice new things like the ability to modify OOB's have been added. And the Logistics rebalance happened since I had started it.
Those are changes I do not want to play without. But currently I am playing Stellaris 3.0 patch.
