Sentinel Vidcom Art Pack v2.1 - Oceania Update
Description:
Asset pack that replaces the default vidcom images with AI generated art

Updated with new assets for Oceania DLC and some minor adjustments to previous assets included.
New optional content to replace planet generation art assets (See download readme for instructions)

Installation instructions:
  • Unzip the Archive (graphicsAlt) directly in the main Shadow Empire directory, or copy the unzipped folder (graphicsAlt) in the main game directory
    • It should like this: C:\Matrix Games\Shadow Empire\graphicsAlt
    • Or like this if you use Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadow Empire\[
      • An easy way to find where your game folder is: launch steam, righ click on "Shadow Empire" in your game library > Choose "Properties" > "Local Folder" > "Explore" (This will directly open the game directory)
Uninstallation instructions:
Note: Never remove the /graphics/ folder as this is where the games default graphical assets are held.
All mods are installed in /graphicsAlt/ folder.

If you have others mods installed:
  • - Remove the follwing folder from directory:
    • ..\graphicsAlt\shadow\complex1
If you don't have any others mods installed: Simply delete the whole /graphicsAlt/ directory content.

Reasons for this asset pack:
I was personally never a major fan of the original art style in the game and I also wanted to try out using Midjourney AI.
Through setting myself a goal to accomplish I felt I would get a good grasp at using prompts and the like if I actually had a goal in mind that would direct me rather than mindlessly making images.
There is an attempt to keep a consistent art style and I'd say while playing the game I might feel the need to replace some of the images in this pack. If I do I will update the mod accordingly.

I would kindly request you to NOT donate to me on Ko-fi, I mainly used it as this game does not have a Nexusmods or Steam workshop listing and I felt it best to go with what seemed to be the most common site for Shadow Empire mod hosting.
The time put into the mod was only 5 evenings and I mainly did it for myself, I just felt I would share this on the forum for other users who might be interested in this asset pack I made.

I was actually using it before I made these. It's what inspired me to make the mod. I aimed for an art style that would not clash with that card pack.

I'll probably be making a post on my ko-fi board within a week or so showing the general style I will be going with inside the game as a proof of concept as about 10-15% of the people downloading the mod seem to follow the account.
It is coming along slower then the vidcom pack took as there is much more manual work involved with them and I want to allow for the same amount of variation as the base game has (~1024 portrait variations per group age[young/old]) and I am still figuring out a good workflow to get out portraits in a reasonably fast and more importantly, consistent manner.

Also I'll probably have an update to this pack within a few days of Oceania release, from gameplay previews there are not too many new vidcom screens, I think I only saw 3 pop up in the streams so far.

Can't say I'm a giant fan as seem a bit too Star Wars (thematic) / Eurofag (stylist) for me but agree for the most part they are an improvement over the original hence still going to use AND I'm assuming the stylist limitations are more a result of the AI engine as it has that procedural generated look like No Man's Skies.

That said the one I would REALLY REALLY like you to redo is the strategy screen one as it's even worse that the original. I mean as a whole screen it doesn't really come together (the paneling / spacing looks way off) but by far the thing that really bothered me to the point I figured I would register and provide feedback is the guy on the bottom right (see screenshot). He has no left hand (looks like some weird tentacle anime demon morphing hand) and his lower face into his neck makes him look like a monkey from planet of the apes. If nothing else, "fix" that one.

This was generally what made up most images. Usually some words in context given higher weights if needed. All images were made using Midjourney v4.

This one, minor regime annexation/unification and treasure found will be getting altered to varying degrees.

I can include these as an optional item. Main reason I didn't include them in the original pack is because they would not work when placed in graphicsalt. They had to be placed in the base graphics folder.

These are now included in the Asset pack with installation (and recovery) instructions in the readme file since you guys were interested in them. You can find them in the "optional_content" folder. The download link has been updated for the newest version of the pack that includes these.
