national morale and casualties

Post by darth254 »

I was wondering how casualties affect national morale?

I know that cutting off supply and shattering a unit can give you bonus national morale, but does it more heavily penalize the enemy when you shatter a lower supplied unit (beyond them having higher MPP cost to rebuild)? Does shattering an enemy unit period provide extra national morale loss? Does any tech such as production technology affect national morale loss due to casualties?

In all combats, the actual cost of a unit in MPPs is equal to the National Morale loss suffered when it loses strength points or is destroyed.

There is no extra penalty for having a unit suffer casualties at low supply, though as you have said, it does then cost a lot more to rebuild the unit.

Production Technology does make units cheaper so investing in it is recommended because it does also provide the indirect benefit of reducing National Morale losses too.
