Strategic Command: World War I - Empires in Turmoil is out now

Post by NotTooBad »

Strategic Command: World War I - Empires in Turmoil, comprises seven campaigns, including some of those most frequently requested by our gaming community, Empires in Turmoil expands Strategic Command: World War I to include some of the most momentous battles of the 20th century’s turbulent second decade. With battlefields stretching from Siberia to East Africa, the fate of empires is in your hands.

You can download the update here.

This DLC contains:
  • Seven new campaigns, including the First and Second Balkan Wars, the Russian Civil War and WWI’s German East Africa Campaign.
  • New unit types including German Freikorps, African ‘Askaris’ and the famed Graf von Goetzen steamer.
  • New events including the Albanian independence movement, Allied and possible German intervention in the Russian Civil War, and an all-new victory condition making the destruction of the enemy army, as opposed to the capture of territory, the sole determinant of victory.
Don't miss the opportunity to take advantage of the release offer to complete your Strategic Command collection, grab your copy of the base game now with a 60% discount for a few days.

Great! But In certain scenarios, like in 1916 The Big Push and in 1919 Shadow of the Tsars, I'm getting a crash error. Possibly affects other scenarios, but these two for sure. In Matrix installation as well as in Steam. Crash ERROR message reads:

FAILED(draw_sprite_on_map_surface): Segmentation violation

Sorry to hear that, and I wonder if you have any graphics mods enabled. If so, can you try it without the mod enabled just to see if that is the issue?

I checked all the scenarios and they are running fine on my rig. As a precaution, I turned off a counter graphic mod I was using. Everything seems good on my end at least. 😎

Yes! That was it! I disabled certain graphic mods being used in World War I campaigns. Scenarios seem to work ok now. Thank you, Mr. Runacre!

Hi,

Were there any updates, such as new units, mechanics etc to the base game along with the DLC? Can't find any patch notes. Sorry if they're right under my nose, a pointer in the right direction would be nice, but I am not expecting there will be any, just wondering if any of the new features cross over..
Thanks

It's the fort north of Petrograd.

Is this free if I have the WW1 game? I downloaded the .zip from link provided. The DLC's are greyed out and if I click on any of them, I get a Campaign cannot be loaded message. I tried to purchase also, but the during the process of purchasing, I couldn't get off the Processing screen when trying to make a payment.

Hi Steevodeevo,

No new units or mechanics specifically, but of course some of the unit slots have been creatively re-imagined or re-purposed depending upon the DLC campaign.

The DLC campaigns are included in the latest update, but will not be unlocked until purchased. If you have still having issues with the Processing screen, best bet is to contact Matrix Support as they should be able to quickly sort that out for you:
