missing Japanese carriers

Post by fulcrum28 »

as future builds, why there is no option to build Hiryu, and Zuikaku carriers?

There is KAga and Akgai.
There should be Hiryu and Soryu
There should be Zuikaku and Shokaku

There should be possible to build Shinano and Taiho too.

Junyo and Hiyo are fine, but they had limited role, and almost seen as CVL.

Please consider this, thank you.

Also as of 1939, i dont see option to build Yamato and Musashi as battleships.
there are should be 12 BB:

Yamato
Musashi

Haruna
Hiei
Kirishima
Kongo

Yamashiro
Mutsu
Hyuga
Ise
Nagato
Fuso

Some are already in production and you have a decision to build the Shinano as a BB or pay to convert it to a CV

If you look at the build screen, click "Production" you will see a list of what will come and what month/year

Also each ship is way more than a single ship, probably even the CVs and BBs are representing 2-3 capital ships and some escorts. A carrier is almost equal to a land based airfleet, with several hundreds of planes, so a signle CV would not be realistic for the unit.

This is why I own but never play the game. I can't get past the unit scales being so off balance to the map scale. AT and AA units alongside armored corps. Single carriers. Yikes. You know if the ships were actually modeled as Task Forces/Groups I could handle it but believing the Akagi is sailing out there by herself, just doesn't cut it for me. My problem I know... [:D]

Having quick-checked, I think they're all there - either to buy or already in production. And ass unrealistic as it is, I always liked that the SC series had single individual ships in their naval game, it's just so much fun to sink the "Hood" etc.

Early war Japanese grouped their carriers into divisions of 2 carriers per division. Perhaps each counter could represent a division?

I would say all the navies are down on capital ships, Britain started the war in 1939 with 12 BB and 3 BC plus 7 Carriers with 5 BB building plus 6 Carriers building, Only Germany has its full complement of Capital ships 2 BC plus 2 BB building
The battle of Medjerda is almost forgotten, but was fought against highly disciplined German troops and blasted a route straight to Tunis it was a perfect infiltration battle and should be remembered as the best fought British battle of the war.

Naval units do generally represent 2 or more of their type (more the smaller the ship type).

They do have names like the Hood and Lexington so that historical ships can be in action, and sunk, just like in real life.

More names are given in the list of vessels that you can build so that you can potentially build more, which is why it might look as though all the historical ships are there. However in practice not all of them are likely to be built by players, they are just options available to you.
