Question on Russian troop deployment

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Question on Russian troop deployment

Post by taffjones »

I am playing as the Allies for the 2nd time.
When Germany declares war on Russia, when are the scripted troops supposed to deploy, I thought it would be that turn but they haven't deployed yet and the Germans are running riot.
If this is a bug, could someone tell me where to find the saved games so I can email it to Hubert.

See Manual page 168 for deployment details which differ depending on previous decisions but they are due arrive automatically when the Soviets join the Allies. Save games can be found in the Strategic Command folder in Documents/My Games.

In my game as Allies I was surprised to not get any mobilized units at Siauliau on the turn Germany attacked. All the other units arrived as described in the manual. I was surprised how quickly the Germans got to Riga compared to my game as Axis. Now I know why. I just reran the turn that led to the German invasion and the units did not appear. Looks like it's repeatable if you want the save file.

From the description you provided and from what I've read elsewhere on the site (and my first game), I think you got hit by the lost Capital bug.

You should report this issue in the tech forum and provide an uploaded save game following the instructions there.

Possibly in the OP's case since he missed ALL the mobilization troops. In my case, only the Lithuanian ones are missing. I checked the saves from the turns before and after invasion and Moscow is listed as a major capital.

Thanks for the feedback Guy's.

Hi

If you send me a save turn to bill.runacre@furysoftware.com, preferably zipped, then I'll happily take a look at it.

Thanks

Bill
