aligning by event

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

aligning by event

Post by jjdenver »

In the base campaign game are there any countries that axis can align by event?
Yugoslavia
Spain
Turkey

Those are the countries I'm talking about - not by diplo, just by for example "hold athens by Feb 41 then Yugo will join" or something like that. Thanks.

The only 'event' capable of actually swinging one of these nations into the Axis fold is Yugoslavia: If London is controlled by the Axis during the usual 'Yugoslav royal coup' in early 1941 then this Decision Event (to opt for the UK spawned coup) won't occur. When this is the case Yugoslavia always seems to side with the Axis, starting with 45% (? I think). I believe this was also the historical expectation of Hitler or at least that Yugoslavia would remain neutral...Yugoslavia has a reasonably impressive available force pool with 5 corps, etc..
By autumn we stood with our backs to the town of Orel
Closer and closer to Moscow they come...

Yeah, unlike WiF there are few automatic "alignments" in the WiF sense. Instead you have to invest in the Diplomacy screen and pray for hits in your favor, tho there are quite a few Decision Events which can get various countries to lean closer to your side.
