General Factors influencing Unit Readiness & Morale

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

General Factors influencing Unit Readiness & Morale

Post by scout1 »

I get it that this is a broad open ended question .....

But looking for the top three factors which might influence a units readiness & morale rating ..

Basically, I have a given unit A and want to know how to maximize or what torpedoes its readiness and morale ....

There are many factors.

Supply and combat are pretty obvious. Having a 10-supply city nearby is better than a 5. Also, resting units occasionally, winning consistently, etc.

Researching the various "warfare" techs for armor and infantry will help by pumping morale and helping to negate the effects of conditions which normally cause it to plummet. HQ units are key. Units attached to HQ's generally have much better morale & readiness. The higher rated/strength & more experienced HQ's have the bigger impact:

1) When possible, sack/replace HQ leaders with better ones - right click on HQ click sack/replace
2) Manually attach units - right click HQ click set mode then manual right click attach/detach
3) Research Command & Control upper right research (up to 2 chits) - it increases the rating, number of units that can be attached & the range of HQ.
4) Max out HQ strength to 10 as a priority.

Another thing to keep on an eye is national morale. NM influences unit morale and therefore readiness. Once it starts going downhill it can become a vicious circle when compounded with defeats and poor supply.
