Updates

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Updates

Post by dhucul2011 »

I see that there are still semi-regular updates on this but are we now passed the point where other suggestions might be added? Are we looking at SC4 or a comprehensive update like WW1: Breathrough? Re-playability is an issue that can be addressed until the day when we get a more strategic AI.

Its a great game and I understand that there are MODs and the editor but I think that there is some fine tuning that would help improve re-playability and make vanilla more versatile.

1. Its too easy for the Axis to stop Torch. They can position the fleet units around Algiers and the AI will run into them one by one. If they manage to land any units the ports are easy to blockade. The Allied AI should always attack Casablanca. They never do. This would help them get ashore.
2. Soviet NM stays artificially too high. Even after taking the three big cities they are at 80%! I noticed that they don't suffer at all with the fall of Leningrad.
3. Why in the world does Turkey move so fast to the Allies when they are almost surrounded by the Axis lol. If Baghdad is Axis it should be a big move to the Axis.
4. The Allied 1943 D-Day should be less predictable. If the Axis are into the Middle East then US landings in Spain, Iraq or would be a great option.
5. There are too many German armies. To better reflect manpower there should be fewer making the Axis depend on other allies.

The loss of Leningrad does reduce Soviet NM by 5,000 points:

Turkey moving towards the Allies is either via diplomacy, to the Allies holding Rhodes, or due to Axis Minors in the Balkans surrendering. So I suspect it is due to diplomacy, and perhaps a tweak can be made there.

Thanks Bill.

Why was it decided not to have the Allied AI attack Casablanca?

It's honestly too hard to recall now as the AI for this was programmed almost ten years ago.
