Mini Map During Game

In all other versions of this game, you could see the color of your country in the mini-map during the game as you conquer
different countries.

Why was this feature not included in this game? Viewing the mini-map during the game shows you at a glance the different
countries you have conquered and gives you a visual on countries you need to attack?

Unfortunately there is a technical issue that could crop up on some systems as some PCs were found to not handle the internal memory buffer resize to properly display the changing national colours on the mini map.

There is a sort of workaround that you can try, although not as pretty as the existing mini-map, but if you navigate to your installation folder and then the campaign you are playing, e.g. let's say the 1939 Storm Over Europe campaign, inside the subfolder there is an Interface folder. If you rename the mini_map.png file to something else, then it will not be loaded and you'll see just a pixelated version of the mini map in game that changes ownership colors as you progress through the war.

If it doesn't trigger any errors for you over time, as these issues seem to only crop up after playing the game for a while, you can keep it this way. Otherwise I'd suggest renaming the mini_map.png file back and it should run normally after that.
