Previous (Battlefront.com) version of CBTS always proved fun, getting an early start on focusing the direction of the Axis buildup towards all out war.

Unfortunately, the version that accompanies the Matrix version of Strategic Command WW2 - War in Europe appears to be a bust.

As the Axis player, I amassed more than 7000 mpp's by February 1939; German research in all available areas are now working on their 2nd and 3rd levels of development (including naval development)! Ditto for the Romanians. Meanwhile, early diplomatic pressure has already persuaded Yugoslavia to join the Axis back in February.

I appreciate all eyes are now on ST World at War, hopefully the next version of CBTS will recapture the greater challenge, hence, balance of Will's previous excellent efforts.

I agree, Cantona66 has put a lot of effort into his mod & I'm not slagging of his work but this should never have been put into an official DLC it's no where near complete. [:(][:(]

I also like this scenario. I have tried to convert to latest version but the program seems to run for quite awhile with nothing happening. How long does it take to convert?

Sorry I've no idea by what you mean by convert.

There is an updated Community Pack that includes this mod (converted to the latest game standard) and it would then automatically install the mod for you in the right place.

You can grab the Community Pack from here:

Hi Akinesia,

Yes the Community Pack should work with the Steam version of the game, and in fact should just autoinstall when you install or update the game on Steam with nothing more needed for you to do.

Is the error you are seeing from the latest update on Steam or a new install on Steam?

Hi,

The level 3, 3-d sprite for the mechanized division for the Germans is missing. When you upgrade from 2 to 3 the unit sprite disappears, unless you have the unit bases on then the base is shown but not the 3-d sprite, anyone know how I can fix this locally, I imagine the mod is too old for an update (although it is in the official add on pack).

Hi folks

Really enjoying the depth and flexibility of this Mod, and the map is a great scale.

I'm having a few issues understanding the triggers however. Ive learned from reading the forums that Poland is a minor, this took me a while and I was baffled during the first couple of playthroughs why I couldn't declare war.

My understanding is that Poland is an UK minor, but so far however declaring war on UK and/or British Colonies hasn't enabled me to declare war. on Poland.

Related to this, Anchaus, Sudaten etc, antagonizes the French more than the Brits and war with France starts before I can seek to take Poland and the Low Countries and then transfer troops afterwards to the West to assault France afterwards.

In addition, the French A.I. is entirely less tentative than during the real historical 'phony war' so you need a lot of troops on the French border to stop their aggressive offensive. As you can't produce units till September, 39 even if I could attack Poland I would have nothing left to attack them with due to the French full force attacks in the West.

Clearly the first year is Research and Diplomacy (which I really like), so, how do players delay the French aggression (if at all), and enable the Germans to focus on Poland and the Low Countries before taking on France?

Is it a matter of investing lots of diplomacy chits in France in the first year and declaring first on the Brits? If so any idea why Poland doesn't become accessible for combat when I declare war on Britain?

Anyone happens to have the latest SSC: Global Conflict version of the mod and the necessary files for it (if there are any)? The links for the uploads provided by Cantona in that thread are dead...

This mod is so interesting and has so much potential but many small problems need to be cleaned up. Many events you can't tell what choosing yes or no will result in (which option will be chosen by clicking yes or no), and some events have problems (ex Germany gets option to convert liner to CV but it costs 1250 and buying a new CV is only 350?). There are other issues also. Someone should pick it up and continue. :)
