Also, is there an event to reinforce German forces in Tunisia after Torch(as happened historically) or does it have to be done manually? If yes when does it happen and what are there triggers?

Hello mate

Just about to get into your Fall Weiss Mod, can I check whether version 'Fall Weiss - 20 or Fall Weiss - WiE 9.1 is the latest and greatest?
Thanks,
Steve

edit: oh dear, just had that CTD previouisly reported on around the 3rd turn or so, immediate turn after Fall of Poland, map focus seemed to be on Danzig (not necessarily related but provided as info) and the error resulted in a Windows pop-up, something to do with a 'Flash error' and a complete drop out of the game to desk top.

I restarted from autosave, which was previous turn, not latest turn which must not have completed) and same crash so game won't play at all past this crash.

I have most of the player made scenarios but don't have a local /users/ .. strategic command folder, all my mods are in the community pack/campaigns folder and last time I tried, they all worked ok, but its been a while as I have been playing the default scenarios lately.

I'm not sure what has happened, if anything to my users/name/docs/strategic command folder, if I ever had one.

I just can't get this to stop crashing at the end of turn i take Poland as I continue to get a splash message error (missing splash message) and get a full on CTD. I have reinstalled the game, build the Users../Mods. folders exactly as Bill specifies and it continues to crash at exactly the same time. I have also re-started the game after the rebuild of the mods structure in case my saved game was broken and get exactly the same crash. I'm no Bill Gates but I've been managing local file structures and getting games to work for decades but this one has me beaten.

Can I just get an answer - from anyone - whether Crispy's Fall Weiss Mod 9.1 is an update of the one in the official campaign pack as it seems, for now, at least I have to go back to the campaign pack to play a version of this Mod.

If you have any graphical mods enabled them perhaps try turning those off to see if that helps?

I think that 9.1 will be an update to the earlier version.

Thanks Bill, no graphical mods enabled at this time.

I've gone back to the 'official mod pack' and started Fall Weiss ver 20 and it seems that it is at the pop-up message 'Germany occupies Western Poland' that Fall Weiss 1.9 crashes. In the official mod this message is shown and the game continues fine,

The v20 is the old out of date version.

Thanks for feedback.

Does anyone know which folder(s) I am likely missing / have in wrong location if I am missing this message pop-up - 'Germany occupies Western Poland'? I may be able to work out the issue from there and replace the folder & files.

It seems really weird. I have the user/.. file structures as specified and I have copied the Mod folder structures (and content) into here and also into other game folder locations just in case I have the locations wrong and it seems to make no difference, the game still crashes. its almost as if the file or folder is missing from the dl but it can't be if others are playing it fine. I have no graphical mods running

Typically mods have to go here:

C:\Users\[Your User Name]\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War In Europe\Campaigns

That error I believe is a signal you installed it the wrong area

Also if you can’t find this location, open the editor save a campaign as a “mod” with Specific name and search for that mod on your comp

Edit: I seem finally to have got it going. Often it seems I do do by trying things I have done many times before that didn't work!

This time however it may have been because I was convinced from what I had read in the forums and the official Mod install guide that FW 9.1 was a 'Mod'. As in a Mod campaign (as opposed to a graphical or AI mod).

As such I had it in a folder structure in the correct 'local' location BUT my campaign folder was underneath the Mod folder.. i.e. /Users../ /Mod/Campaigns..

I changed this so that FW 9.1 was located in the Campaigns folder as follows: Users/ .. Campaigns/ Mods/..

\\This seems to have worked.

Thanks Crispy

Ive done all this and more, still crashes on that end of turn message (missing pop-up) regarding fall of Poland.

Thanks for getting back

Currently playing 9.1. Great mod.

Just to notice some minor typos (alabanians instead of albanians, for example) in the scripts. And when axis conquers Manchester (alternate capital), it appears a pop up window without text. Then it appears a pop up window announcing Edinburg as capital.

Estonia and Latvia are occupied by USSR but they are showed as neutral in the diplomacy screen.

When Ireland surrender, an irish garrison unit still remain in the map.

I have the same problem, game crash at the end of the polish campaign (same error message).
I have the steam version of the game and I put the campaign mod into the community player campaigns.
Playing USSR, the campaing did not stop at the fall of Poland, but I could not occupy Eastern Poland.

I'm presently in a game of 9.1 as the Axis. I've taken Leningrad, Stalingrad and now finally in early 44 took Moscow. The Russian NM is still over 100. It did not plummet as the notice says. In fact it barley moved. I really feel this isn't fair.

It could depend on when you took the strategic cities, there are certain bonuses for holding onto them until a certain time as well as the AI receives some other specific bonuses. Either way sounds like it should be an interesting year trying to hold the Soviets back as the Allies finally press forward!

I will take a look at the NM bonuses to see if they are working correctly, I assume they are but perhaps AI NM bonus needs to be tempered a bit.

I just finished a campaign as Axis, resulting in an Axis Decisive Victory October 1943. After playing it through I'm reminded that the Soviet morale is designed to shoot up significantly in 1943 forward after being artificially low through the early years, so that the Soviets can successfully counter attack, but again Axis victories in the East can still keep this in check. Soviet morale never increased above 93% in this campaign.

A few notes I made through this playthrough will result in a few more tweaks;

- UK raids on Berlin in 1940 will be changed to a DE which can also lower German morale slightly
- The German HQ received via Sealion DE (No) will show up a turn later so that Rommel may not accidently deploy at Berlin
- Add a Soviet NM penalty if each of Moscow, Stalingrad and Leningrad are all at once in Axis control
- Add a UK NM penalty if each of Moscow, Stalingrad and Leningrad are all at once in Axis control
- Reduce cost of Germany supplying Tank and AT units to Romania and removing the upgrades
- Add a few Soviet Partisans for Allied AI only
- UK (AI) Strategic Bomber to deploy a bit later in Egypt to avoid it being sent to Greece upon Italian invasion
- New German DE to reflect the logistical costs of supplying it's army deep into Soviet territory, costing MPP over x turns or supply issues will persist deep into Soviet territory
- Will increase Soviet morale in 1942 slightly, offset by some gains which would have occurred in 1943
- 2 New Soviet DE to prioritize certain US war time deliveries which will result in chosen units deployed
- I also want to make some Allied AI Amphibious tweaks so that certain areas (i.e. Egypt) are more vulnerable to Amphibious landings if left under garrisoned
- A few grammar fixes in Decision events

I am going to take a playthrough as the Allies next, and see what else could be tweaked before I prepare a new version.

OCB,

I would be willing to do this with you, if you want and it doesn't work out with your partner.
I don't Ytube, though I could do an old fashion text AAR.

If it is easy enough to teach me the ytube stuff I might be able to do that as well. It looks like you are using some native Nvida program to record, and I do have a decent microphone (snowball).

Or maybe I could assist via zoom/Skype.
I promise not to mst3k it up too much.

Yeah Taxman I will consider you as a back-up plan if something goes haywire. It would be an honor.

However, I just got a confirmation from the other YTbr that he wants to do this in a few months. Him and I have been discussing different 'projects' for SC for about 6 months, but we have both been over committed from then till now. Still, autumn is a ways away, and there's a lot that could interfere with our plans the way the world is atm.

A solid AAR would be good too. I quess I can speak on Crispy's behalf in that he wants to see how other players conduct themselves with his mod to see if any more tweaking will be involved.
This is all very preliminary of course. But I love Fall Weiss II for WiE and always wanted to try a multiplayer match with it.

Note on YT. Yeah I'm just using the free Nividia GE-Experience software. It's bare bones and editing is almost nonexistent. OBS Studio is better. Its free also, but there is a learning curve involved. However, its editing tools are great, so if for example, you wanted to leave the game to take a call, kiss the wife, or whatever...and then return, you can splice the segments together. I can't do that with GE-Experience so I literally have to 'Hotseat' the entire turn haha.

The Snowball mic is good. I've used one in the past playing EveOnline. I do use a Blue Yeti mic now. Its superb also.

Getting set up and using YT is fairly easy, but there is some work involved with creating thumbnails, scheduling (if your making a episodic series with another YTbr) and the like. Making custom thumbnails is easy if you can make AAR images. There's some easy tricks I can pass on about that. The other thing I find useful is to keep a log book. I have one that is partitioned in columns to show the turn and game date, a brief description, recording length, and schedule. Also an external hard drive, even a small cap one, is essential to store videos, as they take up a lot of space.

Anyways thats that. Thanks for the offer. We shall see what happens.

Cheers
