I've noticed a couple of scenarios which have been updated (with revision number) since your source material was published. As I understand it, I can make revision updates to your work?
Also, does the web catalog require a user account and login?

Regards
So, which scenarios got updated exactly?

I was looking to get into some TOAW III scenarios to expand my horizons a bit and I've been trying to get some info on which ones have a PO in particular as I tend to play SP. I've seen some references to Shunwick's TOAW III Catalogue which seemed to have a lot of useful info, but the Gamesquad link to it no longer works. Does anyone have a version of this file?
I am currently finishing up the full TOAW scenario catalog.
It already contains 1168 scenarios and modifications.
It will be fully completed within the next week.

Complete TOAW Scenario Catalog

In the second column of the catalog there are links to download these scenarios from the archive I created.

TOAW scenarios archive

80% of the work is already done (All that remains is to add scenarios for letters T-Z to the archive)
I say old chap, thanks much for posting up the scenario archive. Unfortunately, several scenario files I tried to download seem to possess a trojan virus.

There are others but from memory these are the corrupted files I tried to download:
China 1937-38
Battle of HunhungNi
Barbarossa Tactical 1942 Axis PO
3POnWar10
1859 2nd Italian War of Independence

Are you sure that these scenarios are infected with a trojan and it's not just Windows Defender/Antivirus being overprotective? What is even a name of the supposed trojan that gets detected? I am not saying it's impossible that the files could be infected, but both Windows Defender and Antiviruses are know to sometimes target files that aren't in fact viruses. For instance, back in the "good old days", one Antivirus I had was nagging me about some virus when I was installing Opposing Force expansion for Half-Life, nevermind that it was an official disc copy, not a pirated one.

I don't think that that's the case as I was able to download some files without any problem. If it was just my anti-virus software being over-protective then I imagine that I wouldn't have been able to download any of the scenario files, as they are all of the same type, from the same source.

Files can be uploaded to

https://virusscan.jotti.org/

And they will be checked by multiple scanners at no cost.

Cheers

Ok, I just tried to download three more files; Austro-Prussian War/The Fourth Republic/Boxer Rebellion1900 and they are all infected with a virus. My anti-virus program lists it as a severe threat and it is Trojan:ScriptWacatac.B!m! Perhaps others can attempt to download the same scenario files and see if they encounter the same problem.

It is still more than likely that those are just false positives. In fact, false positives are not an uncommon problem with virus-detecting software, and the ones with wacatac are some of the most common false positives. There are plenty of reports from people getting warnings about viruses and malware that make no sense or shouldn't even be possible at all. I also find it just weird that some files from Andy's archive are supposedly infected, while the others are perfectly fine. I am not an expert, so I can't say whether this is true or not, but this sounds like something to be taken in consideration:

"nobody knows. I had a false positve with a self written .jar file just now. Its like an AI cannot tell you with certainty if it sees a dog or cat. Its how ChatGPT can lie in extremely dumb ways.

The way antivirus works is NOT by analyzing your whole file. They scan your file and if any 0.001% match to that of a Virus, it will be labeled as that. Mathematically speaking, this works 99.99% of the time. But because we have so many Files on our PC, we occasionally find false positves. And especially executable files are flagged regularly. If you use the same open source code a trojan uses, your executable will get flagged.

What should you do? If you trust the source, add a windows defender exception for the File. If you don't trust it, replace it if possible. If you absolutely have to use it, Virtual Machines may be a good middleground."

That said, better be safe than sorry, of course. If, for some reason, various scenarios in Andy's archive ARE contaminated with some malicious shit, then it's quite a big problem and misfortune.

Hey, Andy, I know this might not be comfortable for you, but can you please upload the current version of the scenario archive to Yandex Disc, Google Drive or Dropbox? I have been trying to download it from MEGA, but all attempts have resulted in it constantly getting stuck at 99% and the browser failing to download it when MEGA itself finally finishes downloading it. I dunno, maybe it's just me being unlucky, but trying to download the Scenario archive from MEGA is being a really frustrating experience so far.

Can anyone open the Conquistador scenario? I couldn't run it, nor open it in the TOAW4 editor and the TOAW3 editor.

I can open it here. I use 3.4.1.9. I don't know what version of TOAW III you have. Conquistador was never set up for TOAW IV.

That said, I can open this scenario with TOAW IV v4.1.0.32. I have attached it here so that you can check if it works for you if you wish. Note that in IV, even if it opens, it will not display properly.

No, I can't open this file - it keeps loading endlessly both in the game and in the editor. Could you open this file in the TOAW4 editor and save it in toaw4 format?

Unfortunately, nothing works - this scenarios hangs in loading in the game and in the editor and does not open.
I waited 10 minutes - do I really have to wait even longer?

I changed the encoding of your file from Unix to Windows, but after that the game immediately said that it cannot open this scenario at all.

All other scenarios work fine.

Try loading the .gam file in this archive into the editor and save it out as a scenario in your version of TOAW.

Hi Andy,

I just wanted to say thank you for doing this, and crucially, for sharing your work too.

Some people might have selfishly hoarded their hard work but you chose to share it with the community.

I will really enjoy exploring the various scenarios that you have made it so easy to navigate

All the best.
