Is there a TOAW log file that captured this action?

If not, look at options to make sure logging is turned on.

The next time you see something like that, exit TOAW and grab the toaw.log file from your user directory (make a copy of it) so it can be examined.

Compress the file into .zip format and post it here. If you wish, you can attach it in a PM to me.

For clarity, I am not on the development team for TOAW or associated with Matrix. But if the log shows something odd occurring, at least the person writing code for TOAW will be aware there is a problem of some kind.

I'm on the TOAW development team ( playtester ) and I'd be interested in seeing that log myself. Recently I changed my logon because my old one quit working for whatever reason and now I can't get into the development team's web page. Obviously I need to contact Bob or someone to fix that but I'm still devoted to making TOAW better. The loss of 19 combatants when only 4 were engaged in the battle seems like something that needs attention from the developer and I'm interested to see what in the world might have caused that. It's hoped that it's something easy to fix. I wish more players would bring things like this to someone's attention so we can do something about it. I appreciate that this event was brought to light.

So that's what happens to old Saints? They come back from the dead to play TOAW. Very nice. I always wondered how they spent there time...
Unfortunately Your Holiness, I don't have the log of that result. I do have several games going though and I am waiting to see if it happens again. If it does, I will capture it and post it here.
Might it be possible for my opponent to have a log of it?
That was turn 81 I think and we are now on turn 87 or 88.
It happened in the Bob Cross made North Africa campaign. It was a probing attack (minimized losses) on what turned out to be a superior enemy force, as I recall.

Here's a zip of some end of the end turn log files my opponent and I collected. If these are not the correct ones let me know.

The log I am thinking of is called TOAWlog.txt

It should be produced in your main user directory when you start TOAW.

If the file is not there, start TOAW, select new game, and look at the options. The log files are enabled on one of the pages called "set advanced player options". Make sure "TOAW log" is on.

Mind: I don't know if capturing that log file will explain a weird event like the one you pointed to above. But it might help in identifying what happened.

Here's another weird one. Same game. I copied the log file after finishing the turn.

Was more than one turn logged ?

Counting the instances, the file shows 42 Recon Light Rifle Squads destroyed and 13 damaged. I'm having difficulty seeing where one turn ends and the next begins.

As far as what you've highlighted, it looks like the totals column is counting something it shouldn't. No idea what that may be.

It was just one turn. But there was more than just that one combat round. The total losses looks about right for the turn as a whole.

I misstated above. It looks like total column is not counting everything it should, but only in certain instances. A reporting bug of some kind.

As long as the equipment totals for units are correctly updated following combat, it should not influence game play or mechanics like allocation of replacements.
