Here's a picture of me trying to deal with the partisans in the mountains above Balikpapan. They will be a thorn in my
side if I don't deal with them sooner or later.

Here's what's happening in Thailand right now. The formations headed to the river are headed west and it's already too
late for the Indians are already at the river and they hold the bridges.

This is the area to the NW of Hong Kong and I've been moving units and now the battle has evolved to where I'm in the
Chinese backfield and Kwellin is the prize. I'm pretty sure he's going to want to take it back and I'm not so sure
I want to give it up now that I have it. I'm wondering if he has any more units to spare to try to take it back. I'm
dealing with a lot of Chinese on the front lines and I may have lucked out and he's out of spare units. I'm in the
process of mopping up a lot of the Chinese units so soon they will be gone I think.

I grabbed the island of Attu. I'm not sure I want to hold onto it however, it's too cold for my taste.

Here's something I put together for me, so I can refer to it later.

I've subscribed as well. I was an old TOAW/TOAW II/TOAW III player years ago but haven't decided if I have the mental faculties left to come to grips with TOAW IV. However, I did play quite a bit of WITP (non-AE version) and seeing it played in this version of TOAW is pretty inspiring. Carry on! [:)]

I don't know if you realize it or not but TOAW4 is easier than TOAW3. The new tools and dialogs have
opened up a plethera of information, a virtual cornucopia of information so that you can almost find anything you
need to know about the situation, the units, the weather, the terrain, etc. It's better. And really, I find it
easier.

And the scenario I'm playing now is the most fun I've had in a while.

The Allies have moved into Timor and are protecting the major ports and have based some bombers there that have a range
longer than my bombers. D'oh. If I'm going to move on Australia I'm going to need Timor. So I need to study the
situation there and determine if it's worth the effort.

That's good to know. I had just figured that there would be more complexity due to the new rules, but it sounds like the information is more accessible and that's going to be a big help to me.

Part of the problem with the take down of Manila is that there's fighters there. My bombers don't have free rein yet
and I'm trying to take care of that little problem by naval bombardment of the airfield at Manila. There's two aircraft
groups there that need to be neutralized. As long as they are in reorg or can't otherwise fly then I'm good.

The AVG is based at Younging and they are the best air group the Allies have right now and so I'm flying in several
squadrons of fighters just to deal with them. I dare not do airfield strikes, the losses would be prohibitive.
But I CAN do attrition although in this case I may be the one losing the war.

I was moving the CV Kaga from the Rabaul area to the DEI when some Allied planes intercepted me and my 57 Zero's took
care of them. So here's the way to tamper the Allied Sea INT missions, just drive some ships around and let them get
intercepted, and the best ships to use are CV's with some fighter magnets in the mix. The planes will naturally go
after the CV but as long as the fighters are flying we're probably okie dokie.

I was using the CV Zuikaku for top cover on a raid to Ellis island to do a bombardment when the Allied aircraft at
Ellis intercepted me and the Z. took damage and so I parked it in the shipyards in the home islands to repair. It's
going to be there to fix about 35% in damage so that's going to be about 30 turns or less I'm guessing.

Looks like you are in luck Larry. That seems to be the CVL Zuiho that is damaged not the larger Zuikaku.

I keep missing the big picture. It's guys like you that can pick out the details
of the game and guys like me just have fun. They both started with a Z. But
you're right it's better that it's a CVL and not a CV. But it's going to be
repaired eventually and then it won't have mattered.

And so I open the moves from Thomas and I see this: are there any Cryptologists out there? It appears that the
Diplomatic Pouch is clipping the sentences. We will have to use shorter sentences for a while until there's a
fix.

And so I'm going through the OOB order moving units and then all of a sudden I notice the air losses meter has some
rediculous numbers. Those were the numbers I had on immediately previous game when I was doing the D21 workshop
and here they are showing up again. I guess that instead of showing a zero for both of them it's using the numbers that
were last on the meter.

I started repairing rail just south of Bangkok and now the railhead has progressed a fair distance. The aim is to
connect Singapore with Bangkok. And as Bangkok is connected to Hanoi, a fair distance of rail will be repaired.
It's important to me to have a mobile defense that I can rail from one end of the continent to the other quickly.
