The only change in the UI I could see would be the ability to select all units in a hex with the first click. After that you can then deselect units. Might save a few clicks when the majority of the time you will use all units for firing, or moving.

Hello Matrix Folks,

I just watch the tutorial on scenario map and scenario setup on the main page.

Very Impressive!!!

As some of you know, I'm a big Campaign Series guy. But after seeing this video tutorial for Tigers on the Hunt I'm hooked on this new game system and will probably give it a try when available.
When is the release date and are there game play video tutorials available?

Cheers!

Watching tonight's twitch stream had me thinking the exact same thing. The amount of clicks per hex would be greatly reduced by defaulting to select all from the start. Even for single unit hexes, no sense in clicking to select then having to click again to select the only thing there.

Guys I can forsee a problem that that...

if it defaults to selecting everything you will have messages popping up all the time.. (i.e. when you select something that can't do what you are trying to do)

let's say I have a hex with 3 units and a leader and its the movement phase. 2 of those units are broken and 1 unit has alredy fired, and the leader is pinned.

When you select that hex you will get a warning message that says, .....broken units can not move....
Then you will get a warning message that says, ....... units that have already fired can not move....
Then you will get a warning message that says, ...... pinned units can not move...

It would be just to much of a hassle to deal with all of those messages popping up all the time. Selecting units isn't that hard and becomes second nature very quickly for you. I was hoping to get Peter to add in a select all button for times when you can select everything but the programming isn't ready for that just yet. Maybe sometime when he gets a chance to do it..

Hope that helps.

Ok, have it auto select all valid units than I guess? Like don't select Broken Units which can't move or unselect them automatically. There just seems to be an excessive amount of clicking for something the UI should be able to do on it's own.

That would require an total rework of the code and alot of man hours... just so you don't have to click on a few units? Not sure that would be worth the
effort when Peter's time and efforts should go into something more important, like explansions and net coding for multiplayer, ect...

The classic debate has surfaced here quickly. We have already got extra content on day 1 (thanks to Jorgen). Plus I have a feeling many ported scenarios will be coming down the line. So I am very much in the camp of the developer taking time to improve the UI and also add requested features like multi-level buildings, multiplay mode, etc.

I appreciate the videos and Tutorial walkthru as well. Just wanted to note, if you play as Americans in Training Scenario #1 (because why not jump in before reading?) you lose a lot of units (and learn not to cross a road under fire), but you win!

Haven't really done a lot with squad-level combat since Kampfgruppe, really looking forward to this.
