If someone is seriously ill, other things become more important than a mere computergame. Apart from that: what is the kind of reaction you want? As said: he still comes around to read the forums. But that doesn't mean that he's healthy enough to do any work here.

And a serious health problem puts someone into a roller coaster ride. You never know exactly how you are feeling the next day. You can't plan a lot and you live on a day by day basis. Your world suddenly becomes very difficult from what you are used to. To put it bluntly: you suddenly realise that your body isn't doing what you want it to do. That in itself is a huge shock.

How to proceed with the things you are doing? How to react to the outside world? What should one do and what shouldn't one do in such a case?
That in itself is very, very difficult and everyone who gets this experience has to realise that no one reacts the same.

The programmer has made his own decisions on how he wants to deal with the outside world. It's his way of dealing with things. If he doesn't want to react here, it's his right to do so, I'm afraid. And I support him in this (even if I don't know him, having bought the game a couple of months ago. I'm having fun with it).

So be patient, light a candle for him, say a prayer or simply give him your best wishes. Someday he will continue and if not, well, we know why...

I couldn't of said it better Peter.

I'll admit I was on that same negative bandwagon early on. Then I got to thinking about it, and I realized I was wrong!

There could be a thousand reasons why there is no communication. He could have had a stroke or battling some wicked form of cancer or maybe a massive heart attack that damn near killed him. Whatever the reason so be it. He still visits from time to time to look around and that is better than not ever coming back.

I know the game still works and I do have fun with it when I play and I am very willing to wait for any upgrades or new game for that matter just like I am willing to wait for the new Campaign Series Vietnam.

So lighting a candle and praying for him is by far the best thing that I or anyone can do until that day when Peter comes back!

In the meantime just keep playing Tigers on the Hunt gamers and enjoy what you have.

Regards all!

I'm of the opinion that life happens and press on. I have no
doubt that Peter has his reasons and its none of my business
to know what they are for not continuing to support TotH. I
bought TotH 4-5 years ago and I'm still playing and enjoying it.
I don't even think of its flaws anymore and just enjoy it for
what it is. There seems to be an implied expectation that we are
obliged something and not receiving it. I don't believe we are
obliged more than what we paid for already. Just wish Peter well
and press on.[;)]

Now, enough of this seriousness. There are a couple of scenarios I
uploaded on D-Day if you are interested. There will soon be a couple
more that I'm almost done with. I would also add that I have beaten
every scenario I've posted so if you think a Victory is beyond reach
then I would say do something very different. duh...[:D]

Poor Form Fuse,
I'm just as keen to see an update, but slagging off the only person capable of doing so seems counterintuitive.

Look its a freaking game, NO ONE is Entitled to any update at all really. You plunk down your money and you get a game to play. If the game designer or game company releases an patch to fix bugs that are game killers that is one thing, and most game designers and game companies do that so that the game is playable. But to expect a release or update by a game designer or company is a bit over the top.

To come in and bombast the game designer and personally insult him or the company is really uncalled for.

It's far better and more productive to use a little honey then to throw a lot of salt.

To put things in perspective in the 1970's and 1980's we paid for a board war game from a company and did not expect any updates at all, but we were sure glad when the company produced Errata sheets.

Times have changed, but the more things change the more they stay the same...

and just for interest sakes , I have never requested updates or patches , that is nothing to me ,if conversation dies
in forums, the game slowly follows
and for those above that have formed a hens party and decided that the patches , updates etc are my issue please post
the thread.
of course you could lift your skirt and run away :)

but for paullus . peter is very ill . manages to log on every week , types his username , password and scrolls through the matrix forums.
but at no point can just say hi ,
how many times has he logged on since his last message ? , a lot .
I type very slow , but I can do a hi in 2 seconds .
should I type quick when I am on the forums every week , I could possibly make a thread saying something like - hi all , recovering , ty - guess 5 seconds for a person who types.
but no . log on every week , but make no effort to contact the community .
And for those who lifted there skirts that is the issue .
not some stupid rumour that I want updates :)
