An AFV can have the following states:

• Good Order (also means unit is in command); an AFV unit in good order state is fully functioning on the battlefield.

• Out of command, if an AFV unit fails its command check at the beginning of Fire Segment it will be marked as out of command. An AFV unit marked with Out of Command Marker can conduct only defensive fire if an enemy unit moves adjacent to it.

• Stunned, an AFV exposed Crew fails its morale check due to enemy fire. A Stunned AFV may not fire or move for the remainder of the turn. The AFV Crew will recover from Stunned State in the next turn in Administrative Segment; however the AFV Crew morale will never fully recover for the rest of the scenario.

• STUNNED, indicates that an AFV Crew got Stunned again. STUNNED AFV is now out of action for the rest of the scenario.

• Shocked, result of enemy fire. An AFV unit will try to recover from shocked state in Administrative Segment. Shocked AFV unit may not fire or move.

• Unconfirmed Kill, an AFV unit that fails to recover from Shocked State in Administrative Segment is now out of action for the rest of the scenario.

• Bogged, occurs when an AFV unit gets stuck in an AFV unsafe move terrain. See Appendix C Terrain chart for details.

• Mired, occurs when a bogged AFV unit fails bog removal check.

• Immobilized, an AFV unit either lost a track or wheels got damaged either due to enemy fire or a mired AFV unit failed its bog removal check.

Few examples of AFV artwork, done by Steve Ford artist (Steve did quite a bit of artwork on a lot of SSG games, The Ardennes Offensive etc...)

Peter:

The only thing I don't like about the AFV counters is you miss a lot of the gun with some of the big-gunned AFVs. I would prefer the silhouette to be set further back so you could see the long gun even if that means cutting off a bit of the back of teh tank.

Are counters moddable? Lots of talented people on these forums.

An incredible list of vehicles btw.

The combat system is abstracted, board game like. Vehicle has 8 different armour values, there is to hit process, once a hit was registered the the fire resolved to see if a shot does any damage or not.

All the vehicle states are highlighted above, though basically an AFV either survives a hit, or gets immobilized or destroyed. Keep in mind that main armament can break down as well as the machine guns.

Yes, if you rotate the hull you also rotate the turret. However when you just rotate the turret then hull doesn't rotate. A vehicle can have main armament, like say Pz IVH 75mm gun, bow machine gun, coaxial machine gun and AA machine gun. Note for an AFV to use the AA machine gun, the tank crew has to be exposed.

Fantastic, seem really a copy of ASL. No problem with the original publisher? But why don't reproduce the view from the top on the counters?Like in ASL is immediately visible the covered arc and the turret rotation.

There is covered arc for ordnance and for vehicles there is vehicle covered arc and turret covered arc. The graphics side view choice was my personal choice, since the personnel counters are side view I went with everything side view - to be consistent.

Questions
• Mired, occurs when a bogged AFV unit fails bog removal check.

• Immobilized, an AFV unit either lost a track or wheels got damaged either due to enemy fire or a mired AFV unit failed its bog removal check.

I don't understand the difference between Mired and Immobilized - neither can move or fire?

If Mired/Immobilized AFV still has a crew and LOS to a target why can't it fire?

The Brit list of AFV's doesn't show any armored cars (Daimler, Humber, Staghound, etc), tank destroyers (Achilles, Wolverine) or SPG's (Sexton, etc), is this correct?

Mired is a worse stage of bogged (this happens when bogged vehicle fails bog check), when a Mired vehicle fails bog check it becomes Immobilized. You can still fire with bogged/mired/Immobilized vehicle.

oops, looks like I didn't properly copy the rest of the British vehicles, I have updated list in the original post.

Off-board artillery yes (mortar, ordnance and rocket) - up to two batteries per side on a scenario, each battery will need a separate radio support weapon. Sorry, no aircraft...

yes, I have some concrete ideas for expansion...assuming the base game sells reasonably well.
