How do I set-up my order of battle?

Questions - how do I set up my order of battle where I want them rather than wherever the computer puts them on the map?

In the last game my leader with radio was KIA. An elite squad picked it up but when I married them up with a new leader he was never able to take control of the radio and I could not get the squad to release it. How can you transfer support weapons between squads?

Finally, the game seems really glitchy. I played several scenarios where it either freezes or skips one of my phases. I just played one game where the Germans decimated me and the reinforcements that were promised in turns 2, 3, 5, and 7 never appeared. By the end of the game I had two squads left and Germans outnumbered me about three to one.

1. If the scenario designer has put the units on the map you can't move the units to new locations. You can only place units that hasn't been pre-placed.

2. This has been fixed in the very close to be released UPDATE 1. The squad can't use a radio and will not pick one up. Other leaders will be able to.

3.a) It would be great f you could give more details about the freezing situations. That helps finding the cause.
b) In which scenario did you not get the reinforcements? Sometimes the game shows the possible setup hexes for units that only the AI will receive (i.e. not available for the human player). These hexes will not be shown when the UPDATE 1 is installed. To check you OB and when to receive reinforcement click on the Order of the Battle line in the Display menu.

Thanks for the response. I am really enjoying the game and look forward to playing against an old friend with whom i spent many an evening with a bottle of scotch and a huge SL Scenario.

Pershing on the front provided no reinforcements.

Fighting Among the Ruins kept freezing in any Movement phase, but really it seemed like just about any time I pressed any button things froze up.

It is good to know one cannot yet set-up your order of battle unless specific scenarios allow it. For some, setting up is part of the essence of the game. I look forward to the updates.

Try some of the download scenarios in the mods and scenarios thread. Most of them start with the player placing troops. Just remember, TotH always doesn't let you see the opponents troops until yours are placed. This is especially true in the user made scenarios where all units have to be placed. It's much like ASL simultaneous set up, where you put a screen up between the two sides.
