More generals in an army

Post by Angiel »

Hi
is there any advantage to having 4-5 generals in the same army?

Not if Napoleon is there with an uncommitted Guard unit.

I think other than that, if the leading general dies, you have another to take his place.

Never had that happen though.

From my little experience...

Detach the low quality generals to move reinforcements and the high quality generals to create new armies.

Think you will need at least 3 generals with good armies to take on the differing threats and opportunities; like British expeditionary forces who will try to take Paris if they can, or liberate minor states if they can't.

Having a good army in France, ready to pounce on any British expedition seems to be a good idea. They have limited forces so if you can annihilate a British expeditionary force, that will set them back good for awhile.
