If the French leave Egypt, due to new leader card, ( going to Ilyria really hamstrings the Austrians) on turn one, with the Gateway to India card played, the UK AI does not know that it needs to still go to Egypt to stop the political points French gains.

Other observations:

When the political rating is at 0, the AI still spends political points to influence it, im pretty sure its spending them and getting no extra bonus from doing so. Either allow a negative value to increase odds, or cap the AI from spending if 0 is achieved.

Terrain is present in all regions and effects game mechanics, can it not also through up a random terrain piece if a battle is fought in hilly (place 1 random ridge on any battle space) wooded (place 1 random wood on any battle space) Capitals 1 village for instance.

Forced march cards, should also produce a chance of losses on those performing the march, 1 in 20 for each unit perhaps, and remove 1 forage card from the allied deck and replace with 1 more forced march card.

If a retreating allied force, ie defeated in combat and moves onto a region with a fleet in port, the fleet is displaced but ive yet to see it get intercepted ( edit the rules book says "may" be intercepted so i was just on a lucky streak!) and if you have activation points you can swan off to other sea zones or return to other friendly ports.

Difficulty levels, instead of reducing ( absolute) French numbers of units, reduce the experience of them, so the reduced 2 are not lost but replaced with 0 militia at the same time more militai are added to all enemy nations force pools each year.

Why no naval leaders?, and why is a naval battle, with a vp gain, not a major battle if a given size?

Rather a fun game!

If a nation losses its only general in combat, the AI does not know to make placing a replacment general a priority for that army, ( esp if the army is 8 or more strong) i just had a 10 strong Austrian lose its general during combat and 2 in combat leaving 8 to retreat, and the Ai placed a new leader to existing 15 strong Austrian force, which hada leader, rather than make the 8 contain a leader

Thanks for bringing these issues to light. I have a couple of other bugs that I have corrected privately that I haven't announced. After the New Year I will see when Matrix might want to issue a patch. And I'll have to coordinate with Glenn. I can't be certain how soon they will be able to put it into production, but, as they say, "Command is aware of the problem."

P.S. I am not sure that the second situation is necessarily a bug, but I'll look at it.
