Is the turn number of the battle shown anywhere?

Not that I've seen, but it would be a great idea and addition to the game.

Yes, I would like to see this also. I learned the hard way that battles have a maximum of 8 rounds.

Any possibility of extending the number of rounds if the battle has not been decided yet?
Currently I try to avoid winning too early (not breaking a flank) if there's an opportunity to kill more enemy units.
