Modding for the game, Is it at all possible? Devs

Post by lt1956_slith »

Hello,

I was wondering if the game is moddable at all? Are all the files stored in dat files or some in the Java packets?

If its possible to mod that would add some nice options for the game, I for one would love to have the main campaign last to 1818 instead of 1815. Also allowing some minor changes like adjusting the Imperial Guard to be more effective would be nice. Its a wonderful little game, but with no options for modding we are stuck with only patches which cost money to release.

Thank you

I am sorry, but there is no modding capability built into the game.

Hello,

I Figured as much, I was hoping maybe some outside tools could open it up. Did you ever think of adding features from the civil war engine to this one? I seen a couple nice features like always having some terrain and also in the videos it looked like sub-commanders can be placed on the line for some sort of bonus? Both those would be great for Napoleon.

I would like to suggest a few future titles that may fit for this game. Revolutionary War, and the English Civil War, and Maybe the 100 Years war. I think all these would fit with the engine real nice.

Also don't know if you know this but there is a game you should look up that was made back in 1996 called Conquest of the New world, it has a battle systems that is unique and similar to yours, but what I liked the most was the sprite movements of the units. I think this game would really look nice with moving sprites instead of the images. Just interesting a game made over 20 years ago had such an advanced idea.

Those are all good suggestions. Truthfully, I don't know when we'll be able to produce a major update of "Napoleon." There is a mythical land called "Someday" and I hope to find it.
