Bad IA decision

Post by Admiral Delabroglio »

Hello

Playing the 1800 scenario, I used a "Forced March" card to pick the Army in Lorraine with the one led by Napoleon, and attacked the Austrian Army in Baden.
The Austrians got a severe beating and retreated to Bavaria.

During the enemy's turn, both the 2-stack and the previously mauled Austrian armies retreated to Vinna, THEN merged.

Maybe the IA should merge the units first, and move the newly combined army after. It enables them to move one more stack, such as the one in Tyrol to Vienna and merge after all the movements.

Perhaps the IA should merge all the stacks it can in a zone in order to create 12+ armies, as its first action when the turn begins, or after all the movements.

Best regards

Hello!

What you suggest in this case would be better decision-making. In a broader view, I suppose that the AI could use a makeover in a number of places. I don't know when that is likely to happen, to be honest. It's very hard to find time for it right now.

BTW: I still love your forum avatar. Very amusing!
