Division will not load from port

Post by Mower »

Hi folks.

So, I have infantry divisions in San Francisco that will not appear in the Amphibious TF load screen. Example, the division has a load cost of 29000 and the TF has over 30000 troop load avail. I tried splitting the division into 2 and still no go.

Any idea why?

Cheers.

And please don't say its in the manual as some do here, if it was easy to find I wouldn't ask. Ive read the manual.

The Division likely has an "R" next to it meaning it is restricted. Restricted divisions can be bought out with political points (unless they are greyed out).

Try to attach a screen shot if possible when asking for help so we can see what you see.

I hope you enjoy the game.

Do you mean they appear on the list but aren't lit up as available? They're either in the wrong mode - combat for amphibious, strategic for transport - or they are restricted. If restricted, they may be available to be bought out with PPs to an unrestricted command, or not. If they are, you still probably have better uses for those PPs than buying out restricted units.

When I try to alter the HQ for said division, all of the options for HQs are greyed out...?

Well, then read the in-game screens - they contain much relevant info. For example how many political points you have accumulated and how many you need to buy-out that particular unit. Hint - the screen will probably say "Cannot Choose New Headquarter for xy division - Too Few Political Points".

That usually means you don't have enough PP yet. Large units are costly.

Is that really necessary?

Read:
8.1.1 HEADQUARTERS

Page 179, top of page:

»» Static Restricted - HQ’s (and on some occasions units) are
restricted and may never have their HQ changed – they
remain and always shall be permanently restricted.

Thanks for the info, folks. I played WitP forever but this updated version PP are not (IMHO) explained well in the manual.
