PBEM vs AI Play: Ground Movement

Post by Tanaka »

Why do you not get to see the ground unit movement phase in PBEM? Rails and such?

Vs AI you see them move around with marching and rail sounds I have not seen this at all in my PBEM?

Any reason for this?

It's been so long since I played AI that I'm not sure what you mean. Possibly it might have to do with maintaining Fog Of War and not giving Intel to opponents.

You can see the AI move in an AI game? I have never noticed that, but the land movement phase is when I pay the least attention.

I have never seen this in PBEM. Now I am testing the game for the Japanese side and I saw such a move. Cool [:)] But it's useless. Otherwise, the enemy will see it too.

It's not shown in the replay for PBEM because both players see exactly the same thing for the replay. The land movement is extra detail that can be shown vs the AI, because the AI won't care. [;)]

Not useless though it helps you see what units are moving where and when...

Yeah i remember seeing this on PBEM with several players, idk there are something that show or doesnt show compare to vs. AI.

@Tanaka, do you have the full files from your opponent? Forgot how this work, there are more than one files that needed to be transfer back and fourth on every turn.

The AI already sees and knows all.

One consistent proof of this is the manner in which it easily singles out an LCU that may be hundreds of miles from any enemy units and in a hex that has never been reconned, but as soon as you place that unit in move mode you will guaranteed to see an airstrike that knocks it back into combat mode.

The AI is also capable of selecting a single target in a stack with its airstrikes as it ALWAYS singles out the one unit in the stack that entered move mode.

Yes as Japan you have to send the replay file and turn file.
