I imagine this is old news to all you master players, but I thought it was neat.

On 12/7/41 I sent the two TFs pre-set for Batan Is. to Jolo island instead. On 12/8/41 Jolo was captured. On 12/9/41 I received a message that the Japanese occupy Basilan (the island one hex to the east of Jolo) and the base became Japanese.

I thought it was neat that adjacent undefended bases can switch hands without having to be occupied by LCUs.

There is a little island in the north of spain (izaro) roughly at the same distance of two fishing villages, when ownership troubles arose they were solved in a rowboat [traineras] race between the two, the first throwing a stone in the island became the owner.. The tradition is renewed each year, as it is written that if the original owner fails to put the stone one year ownership will pass to the other village.

Kind of the same? [;)]

After rowing 40 nautical miles to another island, I would not be a Rowboat Corps....I'd be a Rowboat CORPSE![:D]

I think that happened in WitP as well (unoccupied adjacent bases changing sides when another base is invaded).

This is probably how mankind started settling arguments many years ago...and then someone decided the stone would be better used by throwing it at the opposition rather than at the island...and so WAR began.
