Cannot change any orders

Post by Puhis »

Have anyone seen this: In my PBEM game (Japan), occasionally I cannot change any orders. This has happened several times already, albeit irregularly. The game keep running orders set two or three turns ago. Nothing changed. Last 3 out of 4 turns have been like this.

For example:
I set depleted air unit to rest, next turn the unit is still flying.
I set rested air unit to fly, next turn the unit is still resting.
I form a new TF, next turn all the ships are still disbanded at port.
etc. etc.

This is really frustrating! Does anyone have anyone any ideas how to fix this? At the moment the game is unplayable.

Screenshots please. I suspect you are not using the right settings. For example a Naval Strike mission with no secondary mission will show "Rest" in the secondary mission column. That does not mean the unit is resting - it is on standby for Naval Strike and will do so when a target is identified. Click "Stand Down" to make it rest and set the range to 0 so an aggressive commander does not decide to use his initiative.

TFs will disband themselves if you leave "Auto-disband" on. Set to "Do Not Disband".

To me it sounds like your opponent is sending back the same turn again.

I do know how those setting work, I've been playing this game ten years. Like I said, the game runs all the same orders than turn or sometimes two ago. Not a single change.

I know, it sounds bizarre. I don't know how to prove this using screenshot, I cannot get screenshot from previous turn.

Definitely a new day each time.

The usual check: are you using the same version of the game with your opponent and updated to the same version of the mod? Does it happen when you play AI? Can you try a couple turns in a stock GC scenario?

This seems to not happening much with other players, I can't recall other similar occurrences mentioned on the forums. Surely does not look like your usual sync bug.
Maybe your opponent did update his game and forgot to mention it, and that made the rare bug surface

Might be a problem with scenario or map installation. We were playing DaBigBabes with extended map. Anyway, we decided to end the game, because of this bug and real life issues of my opponent.

This remains a mystery.

Well, considering your avatar, eat the bug for a snack and continue on. [;)]
