Can anyone tell me how to prevent this visual distortion issue when I scroll left or right?

Are you sure you are using the correct PW file set?

It may not solve it totally, but try turning off the F6 hex details. The highlighted hex frame is an overlay and every time you try to scroll the game must redraw the overlay as well as the map. The video card usually cannot store all the data needed for smooth scrolling so you get jerkiness and (it appears) a series of half-finished refreshes of half the screen.

That may not be the entire explanation, but it does add a burden to your video card and your CPU if the video card offloads the work.

Edit: meant to mention the range circles are another overlay with consequences for scrolling. These things only need to be turned on briefly when giving orders, not constantly displayed.

I read your message in another forum posting and turned off all overlays. Unfortunately it made no difference. [:)]

Your PW files and Map Panels are matching.

Yes. Furthermore this duplication distortion (for lack of a better term) only occurs on the right half of my screen, almost like a split screen issue, however the single screen option is all that has ever been used. I wonder if the game is in conflict with the split screen option, tying into it somehow even though it is not being utilized.
